However, I would have to say the BE left behind some good stuff but I look at the US and see only the terrible turmoil started by GWB in the mid-east. I am not a socialist in the sense you mean, I have even sometimes voted conservative but it was back in the 70s/80s when conservatives up here were small 'c' conservatives not the hard rights they are now. |

I've never been a fan of the Bushes either or any Democrat president since I could discern politics. As ds1 says, them's the breaks. I do believe that the British Empire enlightened much of the world and was a good thing at the time. I don't think that the sun still sets on the Commonwealth. That's something.
