We got a new Sprouts Farmer's Market. I have been there twice. Seems similar
to Central Market but Central Market is overall better in terms of selection I think. Far more extensive salad bar. The prepared foods are eerily similar but again, much more variety at Central Market. Overall prices seem high but sale prices are great! I mostly bought sale items. Today they had three pounds of peaches for $1. The problem? A lot of their produce didn't seem fresh to me. I kept hearing customers say how fresh it was. Last time I was there, I bought grape tomatoes and a large slicing tomato. Granted. we're having hot weather and I didn't refrigerate the grape ones but they were all mushy and shriveled by the next day. What was left of them anyway. I just had to trim the slicing one as the top was mushy. I passed by much of the produce as it just didn't look fresh. Today I bought onions, carrots and potatoes to use right away. Tried some more tomatoes and bought six peaches. Will have to see about those. Saw other shoppers flinging them and turning up their noses. I don't like peaches so maybe don't know what to look for one but these seemed okay. My biggest complaint was the checkout. I think they need more training or something. I got the app and loaded the digital coupons but when I asked the cashier what to do to apply them, she acted clueless, finished the sale then said there was nothing she could do. A supervisor had to come over. She pointed to some thing and said I was supposed to use it with my phone. No clue about that. No other store in this area has that. They either have the coupons linked to our card or cell phone number. Then she added that using the phone wouldn't save me any money. It would just apply the digital coupons. I looked at her and said, "But the coupons save me money. Right?" She just blinked at me twice and said there was nothing she could do. I think I missed out on a few dollar's of savings. Also, they have the worst plastic bags I've ever seen! I did bring my own bags but wound up buying more than would fit in the bags. The plastic shopping bags and the plastic produce bags just fell apart as soon as I got them into the house, spewing food everywhere. The bagger also had no clue how to bag stuff. Winco. Still the place to save. Hemp milk was about $3.27 two months ago, then $3.00 now today $2.30! Anyone know what is going on there? Found some at Bartell (local drug store) for 99 cents. Costco. Big disappointment. Was hoping to find some new organic and/or gluten free stuff. And no... The gluten free is not for me. Nope. They just seem to have less selection of food overall and more clothing. I do like their clothing but I don't need clothing. |
