A fruity smoothie!

We like a smoothie when it's hot and we drag ourselves home from the
daily walk around the neighborhood. Whatever we have on hand, usually
banana, pineapple, nectarines. It's a summer thing.

We picked up a bag of berries from Costco. Wow that was a blast of
fruit, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. Don't know why we
never think to buy their bags of frozen fruit.

Anyway, the corn is still for sale alongside the cauliflower rice.

I like frozen berries very much! Don't have a Costco near me but I
occasionally buy a bag of frozen berries to serve with vanilla ice cream. :)

I'm not into smoothies, but when I come in from mowing the lawn on
a hot day, I dish up some frozen raspberries and eat them like
a deconstructed popsicle.

So handy. Berries go so fast it's great to have perfect ones in
the freezer.

Now that you mention ice cream, it's been a while ....

Nice, sounds very refreshing. Which I need more and more after being
in the heat.

We used to buy tubs of frozen sour cherries. I used to eat them like candy.

the cauliflower rice is gone and the corn is back!
I always get their bag of frozen blueberries. Much more economical
than buying fresh. I love their frozen cherries both kinds. I bake
with them but also eat them frozen, what a treat.

That's pretty much what we do, bananas go into the freezer just for
that purpose, sometimes I'll buy the canned pineapple juice. We add
plain yogurt and skim milk.

Not an exact science, but as you say, tasty and refreshing.

Good! I was watching the price on the corn to see if it was going
to be one of those While supplies last prices.

The whole Costco price tag code. No asterisk. But you got me looking
at stuff I don't normally check out.

I don't have a separate freezer, so I don't tend to buy big bags of
frozen things, but the fruit is really worth the space.

Fruit Snack!! Why smoothie it? No teeth? Can't chew?

Sure you get to pick the fibers out of your teeth, but that's good for ya anyway!

I can imagine how hard it would be to find them down there. It is hard
enough to find them here, and I live in an area with lots of cherry
orchards. I used to be able to go over to a farm about two miles from
here and get them freshly picked and pitted and in pails, and it was
cheaper than buying then in quart baskets. I can get them at one local
grocery story, at a nearby produce stand and at a cherry farm about 12
miles from here. The latter has a production plant for freezing them and
also produces concentrated sour cherry juice.

When I make smoothies in my Vitamix I use frozen strawberries, baby spinach, red grapes, and an apple with skin, minus the core. Good stuff!

My old Oster blender is pretty powerful... makes great smoothies... I
use whatever fruit is on hand along with a couple scoops of ice cream,
and a few ice cubes. I like to add melon, canned pineapple, and Coco
Lopez coconut cream and some dark rum, sometimes I add Horlicks malt
powder. I rarely puree greens... if it's going in your Vitamix why
does it need to be baby spinach, can't your Vitamix handle full size
spinach? LOL

I used to buy it until they had all of those recalls.

We inherited one of those machines from my late father-in-law. It's a heck of a machine although we don't use it enough. I'll sometimes see restaurants using the same machine. That's awesome!

Look in a health food store (HFS). Only place I've ever seen 'em.

Our HFS has dried sour cherries. Kinda pricey, but at least I can get
'em. ;)

You can find dried sour cherries online he
https://nuts.com/driedfruit/cherries/sour-tart.html
Those have sugar in them but they also have organic with nothing added:
https://nuts.com/driedfruit/cherries...sweetened.html

Not cheap but good quality. I order from them all the time.
