And just WHY do you care what others have for breakfast?
I never eat the damn meal. I start with lunch.
Julie responds to this and you would be rude to her.
Same thing if John responded.

Enjoy your morning omelet. lol
Try to be nicer than average today. That's always a good goal!

Sounds good.

Original plan was scrapple and eggs but I remembered too late we needed
bread. Onion bagels instead. Going to the store in a few minutes for
bread.

I had a change of plan too. I picked up the bacon and some eggs.
Instead of French toast I made some muffins, so had bacon, poached eggs
and muffins. The muffin recipe was from the new JoC that I bought a few
months ago and they were excellent. I wondered about the use of nutmeg,
but it worked.

Dave, have you ever made "French Breakfast Puffs?" They are like muffins, and really,
really, really good.

Could you elaborate? I've never heard of them.

I haven't either. Although my computer assistant says I have a recipe
from this group that I copied in 1998. Nancy2, could you describe
them for us? The name seems to indicate that they are puffy in some
way yet reading the recipe I have sounds just like muffins.

I had never even heard of them before. It is an interesting concept, but
muffins are so easy and we like to eat them with a variety of jams or honey.

Oatmeal, raisins, butter, and brown sugar. Glass of milk.

My breakfasts are even more monotonous than my other meals.

Nothing wrong with that! At home, I always have home-made muesli (to
which I add some extra bran) with milk and yoghurt.

That is my recipe for oatmeal too.
Specifially:
- 3/4 cup dry rolled oats
- 1 1/2 cup water (or just a nip more)
- a few shakes of salt in the water
- maybe about 2 dozen raisins or less

All that gets cooked then poured into a bowl containing:
- 1 TBS butter
- 2 TBS brown sugar

Stir gently (fold) then eat.

It's an occasional evening snack for me, never in the morning
for breakfast. I never eat breakfast and haven't in the past
50 years or more.

Also for the last 48 years, I always get out of bed by 4:30am and
like to go outside in the morning dark. I've seen many sunrises.

I don't think your meals are monotonous

I would live on steak and salad (and often do). However, I do love to cook
and Very Fortunately, my husband loves to eat what I cook)

So, we are both happy))

I would like to see your jalapeno cheesecake. I've often thought
about making that style. Did you have to make an enormous cheesecake
or were you able to make smaller?

Reread that. It's a sandwich, not a pie :-)

These were the meatballs:

A Philly cheese-steak omelette, home fries, multi-grain toast at
Parker's Maple Barn, Mason, NH. Mrs. Beitel: Eggs Benedict Florentine,
maple frappe (yes, for breakfast!) Visiting Beitel offspring and spouses: Blueberry pancakes, pumpkin pancakes, fried eggs, sausages, kielbasa,
etc. Regular and maple coffee.

All were awesome. Service was fantastic as usual.

(Worth the 1.5 hour wait, hard to put up with when you're
hungry. That's what happens when all the leaf-peeping tourists[1]
show up in the area on a beautiful cool colorful autumn day. As well
as all the locals like us. :-) )

[1] More license plates in the parking lot from outside NH/MA
than in.

I made a jalapeno and cheese omelet with some fried pork belly. I wanted to get away with having pork for breakfast but that doesn't look like it's in the cards.

Why wasn't it in the cards for you? Looks very good but obviously
not all that pork in one meal. Did you at least eat one or maybe
half of one? Low carb, for sure.

It is now dinner time BUT I had two hash brown patties with a couple
of over medium eggs plopped on top for breakfast. No toast or biscuits
or any type of meat.

Mine is almost always the same. Cottage cheese on toast. Only time it's
different is if I'm out of one or the other.
