Wow! It's the Kitchenaid Professional 600. I never even got a chance
to do autolyse. The newly designed dough hook and larger, wider bowl
made the ingredients pull together almost instantly while my husband
was still listening and watching for defects in the new machinery.
I've never had a bread mixing bowl come this clean, ever. This mixer
claims to be able to handle 8 pounds of dough. I don't believe my
oven can handle 8 pounds of dough. Anyway, the mixer flew through the
first tryout like a champ.

Beautiful machine! Hobart used to make Kitchenaid back in the 60's etc. when they were still made in USA! I used a LOT of big upright Hobart mixers in my baking career! BIG ones! 140qt bowl with extender!

It's pretty nifty. I loved my old 4.5qt lift-head KitchenAid, but the
Pro is amazing.
The old one was a gift from my mother-in-law, nearly 40 years ago (it's
a Hobart). It still works beautifully, and now sits on my daughter's
kitchen counter.

They are very nice mixers. I found that it was too tall for my kitchen as
far as fitting under the cabinet goes, so I gave it to my daughter in law
who loves it. Enjoy.

that's too bad. That was a problem with them years ago. They are now
17 inches and fit under most cabinets. I hope your daughter likes the
mixer

She loves it, and I know you will too! I always like it when I get something
that does what it's supposed to and is a joy to use.

well, you know, men get toys (that they really need) all the time. I

Have fun with it. It is a very beautiful mixer.

In my experience, it will not comfortably handle 8lbs of dough. That
is why mine only stayed with me briefly and now resides quite happily
with one of my kids who uses it well. The kid adores it and I am
pleased it found a better home.

Its fault lay only with me.

Nice! I bought the Artisan model purely for cake making to replace my
old Kenwood that has a faulty speed control. I already had a powerful
Bosch for bread dough.
I must say I really enjoy using the KA. The BIG disadvantage is the
effect on my waist-line:-(

How old was you Kenwood? I reckon mine must be going to hit 50 soon,
very noisy but still works.

That's the one I got, but maybe 2 or 3 years ago. It passes for
entertainment, gather around and watch the mixer working!
