Default Fruitcakes are done

My big project for the day is done. I made two batches of light
fruitcake, and the second will be finished backing in about 5 minutes.
Then they sit and cool off for a couple hours before they get soused
with brandy.

There were a few snags. I forgot to take the butter out of the fridge
the night before to soften. I was half way through mixing up the first
batch when my brother dropped by for coffee, so it got into the oven a
little later than I had planned. It was 20 minutes from the end of its
baking time when the groomer called to say the dog was ready to be
picked up. I was able to scoot over there very quickly and make it back
on time.

Here we are with just a couple minutes to go and I have two dogs pacing
in and out to tell me it's time to go to the dog park.
