I wouldn't like coleslaw in my sandwich either. Heck, that's kind of disgusting. Of course, if it's a BBQ pulled pork sandwich...

i'm assuming you are speaking of a mustard based bbq sauce
instead of tomatoish?

i happen to like both, but i also like cole-slaw on a
bbq sandwich or off to the side, or even both if there is
enough cole-slaw to go around.

Your best bet is to eat a Spam musubi while traveling. It tastes better
after a long trip on the road. You can stop and enjoy the sights while
partaking. If the weather's bad, you can eat it in the car.

I make it often:) D. loves it:)) Now I wonder who put me
on to that .. hmmmm???? ;p

It is true that, for hundreds of years, a musubi always tastes better when
you're hungry and weary from traveling and in need of a small respite. You
can find Spam musubi and variations in all 7-11s in Hawaii. It's all so very
perfect. Thank you, Jesus!

You must go back to In-N-Out and make right what was wrong.

I saw my son and his family eat fries and soft serve. That was a bit shocking. I don't think I'm ready for the big leagues yet i.e., fries and chocolate shake but I may be able to handle fries and vanilla soft-serve.

My granddaughter has a book about eating foods one does not care for. It's called "Pete the Cat: Three Bite Rule." I haven't had the time to read it yet but my assumption is that the idea is that you give foods three chances to change your mind. It's a very wise policy!

I made some chicken fried pork chops yesterday. The pork was butterflied and then I pounded the shit out of those things with the back of a cleaver. The pork was then dredged in flour and then beaten eggs and then flour again.. This produced the most tender pork chop ever.

The flour had some kim chee powder mixed in. It gave the pork an odd yellowish cast. The kim chee powder is kind of dangerous. I have to hold my breath when handling the stuff. The whole time the bag was open I didn't dare breath. When I did breath, it was at a distance by the door. It still caused me to choke and cough. As it goes, the stuff is too dangerous in powder form. To be used safely, it's going to have to be dissolved into a liquid. The world's most dangerous food?

No, I don't mind mixing food and it doesn't bother me that they touch each other. I just don't want slaw on barbecue. I want to savor each one but
when that slaw has been dumped on the meat all I taste is the slaw. Usually
it makes an awful drippy mess, too.

It has nothing to do with region, it's a personal preference and I stated
in a previous comment that slaw on top of barbecue and all I taste is slaw.
Usually results in a soggy bun as well, blech. When I go to a barbecue
joint and they're dumping the slaw on top of the meat I tell them put that
slaw on the side. I'm not there for their chopped cabbage and I'm there for
their barbecue. Sometimes I think when they dump slaw on the meat they're
trying to hide fact their Q ain't all that good and are trying to disguise
that fact.

When I hit Burger King for a Whopper it's *always* "hold the ketchup and hold
the pickles." Like coleslaw, two flavors that overpower the taste of the
meat and make a messy burger.

Actually, it's not overcooked unless the pit master or the home barbecue smoker

I like my Q'd pork sliced, not strings... stringy pork is disgusting

Well, I certainly can't deny that. This is an imperfect world and by the time you get half the sandwich eaten, the bun and pork have slid all over the goddamn place and you're looking like some kind of spastic goober. Luckily, I can only eat half a sandwich so I just fold the thing in the wrapper and forget about it.

Properly cooked, it is not stringy. It comes apart and breaks up

If you like it sliced then it's not cooked as long and as slow and as tender
as pulled pork. Not all sauces are sweet either; you must be using commercial
bottled bbq sauce.

Steak fries (as they are usually cooked and served such as at
****rudders and Red Robin) suck donkey dicks. So smothering them
with cole slaw can only be an improvement.

Similar to the above example, I love mixing mashed potatoes w/butter
and sauteed cabbage.

I like Jell-O with a glob of mayonnaise on top.

I made some chicken fried pork chops yesterday. The pork was butterflied and
then I pounded the shit out of those things with the back of a cleaver. The
pork was then dredged in flour and then beaten eggs and then flour again.
This produced the most tender pork chop ever.

The flour had some kim chee powder mixed in. It gave the pork an odd
yellowish cast. The kim chee powder is kind of dangerous. I have to hold my
breath when handling the stuff. The whole time the bag was open I didn't
dare breath. When I did breath, it was at a distance by the door. It still
caused me to choke and cough. As it goes, the stuff is too dangerous in
powder form. To be used safely, it's going to have to be dissolved into a
liquid. The world's most dangerous food?

Given you are putting up with the dangers, it must taste jolly good to be
worth it! That looks really good! I will try that, sans the kim chee
powder of course!

Well, I certainly can't deny that. This is an imperfect world and by the
time you get half the sandwich eaten, the bun and pork have slid all over
the goddamn place and you're looking like some kind of spastic goober.
Luckily, I can only eat half a sandwich so I just fold the thing in the
wrapper and forget about it.

What it is is very greasy. Typically, you won't add any sauce to kalua pig. If there's a bottle handy, I'll add some chili pepper water.

My original plan was to create some dishes with the kim chee mix but it's tough to handle. I'll have to try a shop dust mask. That would be great if that works. I'd like to make fried chicken with this noxious stuff. :)

My wife said that the pork chop was the most delectable she's ever tasted. OTOH, she had been fasting for the last three days so that might have heightened the experience just a teeny bit. Beating it with the backside of a cleaver did make it wonderfully tender. I don't think I'll ever cook a chop again without doing that first.

I would have thought that the lowest meat would be greasy, whilst the top
meat would be dry; because not being turned in any way, all the liquid fat
would sink to the bottom.

However, that would be great fat to use for frying other food.

Deep fried pheasant is nice if the cooking fat is kept just below boiling.
Two hours per pheasant, but turn the bird over half way.

I am wondering if I could try the same with duck, but it would take twice as
long and might not even fit in my fryer.
