I've been wearing glasses for more than 50 years, for myopia and astigmatism. Now that I'm into presbyopia as well, I probably should get multifocal lenses, but so far I'm happy just riding them down on my nose for close work. Cindy Hamilton |

Club stores have far less shop lifting, that keeps prices down. Where I live we have five acre zoning, can't build on less than a five acre lot although most lots here are more than 20 acres, several are over 50 acres and more. This is better than a gated community. The properties are large enough that anyone who doesn't belong is readily spotted... in farming communities people who don't belong don't linger, they know they can get shot and disappear without a trace.... dropped into a twenty foot deep pond the carp and snapping turtles will make quick work of them, including their bones. |

I wear bifocals but I like to read in bed and that is difficult with those things, so I got readers for reading in bed. I used to use the cheap drug store cheaters, but I can't use them anymore because I have an astigmatism in my left eye. |

I hated bi/tri focals. And cheapo readers from the drug store will ruin your eyes, those lenses are not even optical glass. I wear Varilux 24/7, I sleep with them. My wife wears Varilux contacts but I can't bear futzing with my eyes... she spends shours in the bathroom with drops and playing in and out with those contacts. I'm not so vain that I can't wear glasses... and I spend a lot of dollars on high quality frames, mainly for comfort. Also wearing contacts eventually leads to eye diseases. |

That works. Our Costco is just plain nutty. It might be the busiest Costco on the planet. Getting there on a bike, you would be able to get parking easier and it would force you to spend less. Our problem is that it's not that easy to find parking and it's not easy to get out of the joint for under $100. OTOH, Costco is pretty much a part of Hawaiian culture by now. That's the breaks. |

The parking lots are both stores are usually very busy, but I have always been able to find a space without too much trouble My friend and I go for bike rides together, so it is nice to have a destination. It is only when I go by bike that I keep it under $100. |

They are called Varifocals here and would never have anything else. I couldn't get on with contacts, my eyes are too dry. |

I'm still looking for your original treatise on punishing businesses by dumping garbage on the business's property. That is petty and childish, but it is very effective i guess. I'd like to visit canada some day. It must be filled with wonderfully vindictive souls. |
