Default Main Lobsters Online

Hi all,

I've been contemplating buying some live Maine lobsters (they really are
one of the world's best,) from on online site, but I'm overwhelmed by
the sites out there.

There is one site: http://www.wholesalelobster.com/fromthedocks.html

which claims to sell cheap, cheap, cheap. But I wonder how reliable they
are, and what may I expect.

Anyone here with experience on buying lobsters online? The local fish
monger and supermarket stuff tastes like fresh water algae. Yuck!

TIA,

Rich

Hi Rich,

Maine lobster from Massachusetts? If you want huge lobsters go with
them, Mass allows the harvest of huge lobsters that Maine does not.

When we send lobsters we use the following all are reputable long lived
brick & mortars. Who we use depends on price.

Harbor Fish Market

www.harborfish.com

p.j. merrill
207/773-1321
www.pjmerrillseafood.com

New Meadows Lobster
207/774-6552

Well, this place isn't in Maine but I've been very happy with both
their service and product. http://www.thelobsterguy.com/

Hiya : )

I remember seeing a food show some time ago, and it was all about things
like that which could be shipped to you. They had a luau kit from Hawaii, a
clambake from - I dunno - Maryland? and a lobster-party-in-a-box, which was
here : http://www.lobsters-online.com/ . There's another site that you can
read before you buy lobsters online :
http://gonewengland.about.com/librar...abyb110101.htm

I've always wondered about that, too. Let us know if you order some : )
Omaha Steaks, too. Anyone ever order from them?

Cheers ~

I've ordered Omaha Steaks for other people, and have also received them.
They are not the best steaks in the world, but you get what they promise.

I ordered Omaha many years ago; was not impressed at all. Nothing
compared to prime beef from the local steak houses in the area (Palm
River, Peter Luger, et cetera.)

I've always wanted to try them - the prices seem good, you get lots of
extras, and that cool cooler you get to keep : )

I'll tell you what was some really great mail-order beef I've had - Colorado
Prime. ( website here : http://www.coloradoprimefoods.com/web/cpf ). We were
at an RV show in Atlanta last year, and they had a rep there cooking up
steaks, and giving *very* generous samples of those, and many of their other
products. The steak - really would just melt in your mouth, and the pecan
pie was delicious. We took home one of his videos, and yes, it's pretty well
an infomercial, but it was interesting. After the silly season is over, I
think I'll place an order with them.

( No, I don't work for them : )

Cheers ~

I have ordered from OMAHA. The service is good, the meat is mediocre. I do
not like their burgers. Maybe it's just me because I like to buy fresh meat
and don't care much for frozen unless I buy in bulk at the supermarket when
things are on sale.

Hello: Have any of you seen the website for Bayley's Lobster Pound in
Scarborough Maine? My parents started to vacation at the beach in
that area over 45 years ago. Many years since then they packed up the
car with the 7 of us kids and wet on vacation there. Bayleys does
have very good seafood. Here is the website.
