Default Dinner Tonight 7/24 will be

Grilled marinated chuck steak and corn on the cob.

A thunderstorm blew through last night and the temps (and surprisingly
the humidity) dropped. The high is only supposed to be 85°F today which
is amazing for South Carolina in July. Loving it.

I've had the chuck steak salted, peppered and marinating in
Worcestershire sauce with minced garlic in the fridge for 24 hours.
I've done this before and it results in an absolutely wonderful, tender,
very tasty steak. Cooked to medium rare.

Of course it might rain again (looking like it). In that case I'll pan
fry the steak.

I grilled 4 hamburgers and a bunch of Italian sausages awhile ago. These
will be lunches and dinners for 3 or 4 days. Not sure what else I will
consume with these items.

Time to go dump spent charcoal and clean up the grill and put it away.

I was out shopping and got a fresh, square pizza from Walmart for only
$2.34. I doctored it up with different cheeses, tomato slices, olive oil and
Italian seasoning. Alas, I killed my basil. Overwatered then sunburned. Also
cooked some pork chops, brown rice and roasted some green beans and carrots.
I figured since I was firing up the oven, I might as well roast something.

Well, learning by experience is the best lesson. Never water a
garden midday on sunny days. Water droplets act as magnifying
glasses and burn leaves. Best time to water a garden is early
morning. Gives the leaves time to dry before intense sun gets on
them.

If you do need to water mid-day, pour the water on the soil only.

When you marinate your steak, do you prick it with a fork? I'm wondering if that tenderizing steak would work with an eye of round cut. They sell these steaks for $5 for about an 8oz. portion, but it's a very tough cut. They roll the eye of round in cracked black pepper and call them pepper steaks..

It's not outdoors. It's in my kitchen.

I always do.

Nonsense.
Easy enough to over water potted plants and have them die of root
rot. Then, did you forget you said that you sunburned your basil?
That's caused by getting leaves wet in full sun.

I heard a mention in the news yesterday about a big train wreck.
Didn't realize they were talking about Bothell. I should have
known though.
