Groovy, no? |

I'll make a note to watch it. Too bad it sounds like a weekly season series though. Better to make one long 2-3 hour documentary. Oh well. > Yes, I saw a Dutch consumer program where they moved cornflakes along > in milk or water, with a magnet. Because of the added iron. Groovy, > no? Agreed! That experiment would be interesting to recreate at home. Just like that time I watched science show and they claimed you could freeze a bumblebee solid. It will just go dormant and with heat it will wake up and survive. I couldn't resist that one. I went right out and captured a bumblebee on a clover. Put it in a jar and stuck the jar in my freezer overnight. Next morning, I carefully poured out the bumblebee onto a plate. We all watched and sure enough, after a few minutes, legs starting wiggling. Few more minutes and it turned over and just sat there while body warmed up. I set the plate outside and a few minutes more, the bumblekid started walking around the plate then just flew off. lol I do know that women need extra iron in their diets whereas older men, it can be bad for them |

I would never have believed that had you not experimented! I do know that women need extra iron in their diets whereas older men, it can be bad for them Yes. I have had to change my cooking atm because D. has been found to have high iron levels in his blood. Fingers crossed this last test will be better. |

I saw that experiment back in the 60's on educational TV. These short programs were probably made in the 50's. It was not presented in an alarmist sort of way - the iron was a nutritional supplement. Back in the old days, Americans had no fear of food of the foods they ate. Well, except maybe butter.. These days, Americans are running scared. That's the breaks. |
