Default Nut milk

Finally, a good explanation of how almond nut milk is made. Much
different than I thought.

I am soooooo glad you found this and it answers a lot of questions, thanks!

Now I can sleep peacefully tonight without this question rolling around in
my brain for hours on end.

I know I've been worrying about it! <snork>

I have a friend who is a half-assed vegetarian. He uses almond milk on
his cereal. I was teasing him about how you can't milk almonds. He'll
have to see this video.

Truly, if you look at the label on a carton of almond milk... it's
mostly water. I know I'm pulling a Bruce here but consider the label on
a carton of Silk brand almond milk:

Ingredients: ALMONDMILK (FILTERED WATER, ALMONDS), CONTAINS 2% OR LESS
OF: VITAMIN AND MINERAL BLEND (CALCIUM CARBONATE, VITAMIN E ACETATE,
VITAMIN A PALMITATE, VITAMIN D2), SEA SALT, NATURAL FLAVOR, SUNFLOWER
LECITHIN, LOCUST BEAN GUM, GELLAN GUM.

Oooh, doesn't that sound tasty! And oh so healthy!

I have never liked any nut milk. I have always been more partial to
soy milk. Nut milk changed the flavor of recipes far too much.

LOL!
However, what should really concern us is the *vast* amount of water
used by the Californian almond orchards. The amount needed to produce
one almond is mind-boggling.

Yes, if rain, it is falling anyway, but if pumped irrigation. a gallon
per almond is a lot of water.

Could have asked me, I'd have told yoose that almond trees have no
udders and almonds have no teats... I can't comprehend why a
vegetarian won't drink cow's milk, cows are 100% vegetarian, cows only
eat grass... cows are much more vegetarian than any faker who ever
claimed that they are vegetarian. I've caught a proclaimed vegetarian
Indian neighbor family wolfing down Oscar Mayer bologna in the parking
lot.

Healthful....!
I aborently detest that food companies incorectly use the word
healthy when they mean healthful. Food is not healthy, not unless
it's an overly large healthy portion. Food can be healthful or
unhealthful.

Don't know about vegetarians, but vegans think it is exploiting the cow,
forced labor.

Are all y'all really that uninformed? The dairy industry only needs
females so the males are killed. When the females are over their milk
production peak, they're also killed. Duh.

Harder than that is that calves are taken from their mothers
immediately after they are born, poor mums.

Well, not all bulls are killed. A cow will only give milk after she has had
a calf. Even if she is artificially inseminated that bovine sperm has to
come from somewhere.

Actually milk is gluten free however most milk bottlers are unsanitary
and the milk is cross contaminated with other crap and it gets gluten
in it.

I actually very much enjoy soy milk. Soy milk, chocolate syrup, 2
shots of everclear makes for a strong ass black Russian.
