Simple stuff as usual...
Breaded and fried cauliflower(blanched first), Haluski(fried cabbage and fried pre cooked noodles with just salt and pepper fried in probably butter, I use rotini pasta), and a hot Italian sausage, fried. Tap water for beverage. |

Tap water for beverage. That sounds good. We're busy installing a safety rail down the sloped sidewalk that leads from the house to the driveway (and thence to the garage). I'll probably go out for subs at lunch time. Cindy Hamilton |

They do have lots of toppings though. I also like Mr. Sub. Not sure if they're available in the US though. Naw, we don't do Subway at all. Nasty. If my husband is involved, it's Jersey Mike's. If it's just me, it's Jimmy John's. We ended up getting fried chicken. With cole slaw and onion rings. Our fried chicken joint recently changed hands (and names). The onion rings were a little sweet and the cole slaw was a lot sweet. Since I brought it home, I had the full might of my own kitchen, so I added some cider vinegar to the slaw. The chicken was pretty good. Cindy Hamilton |

Tap water for beverage. The wife made krapao gai kai dow for lunch (chicken with basil and a fried egg). This recipe really needs 'Krapao' AKA holy basil, which is not the same as the more well known Thai basil, it's much more fragrant and has it's own taste. But the recipe is still good with any kind of basil, really. https://www.eatingthaifood.com/thai-...d-kra-pao-gai/ |

It just tastes wrong with top-shelf salumi, but bottom-of-the barrel chopped-pressed-and-formed junk is no pleasure to eat. And a decent bun is vital. Subway's fail on that criterion, too. That said, there's a little hole-in-the-wall place that has a "lunchmeat sub". It completely fulfills my nostalgia for crappy cold cuts and we go there once every few years. Usually on the way home from the lumberyard across the street from it. Cindy Hamilton |

I'll eat a sub there in a pinch. The best cold cut subs are the ones I make, because I'll go to 'Finest Meats', and get their cold cuts. And bread from a good baker at the market. Subway is quite the success story. 33,000 restaurants. |

I walked in once and looked, their sandwiches looked disgusting, fake cold cuts. Right next door is a Tops Market with a deli. Their sandwhiches are excellent and cost less., for $6.99 I can buy a stuffed sandwhich with REAL roast beef and and all the acouterments. lettuce, tomatoes etc. The market deli has every kind of Boar's Head Cold Cuts, and their sandwiches are stuffed to overflowing. Subway (hole in the ground) is way over priced mystery meat and pitifully little of it. I much rather go to the Tops Market deli and buy whatever sandwich I want... far better and half the price of Subway. |
