That's very nice to offer, but there could be a snag! Did you put a
dead pig in with the beans?

By all means let druce have firsts. He's been whining lately about
not getting as much attention as Popeye. Popeye can wait.

It could be worse than that druce. He may have put a shotgun shell
in for flavoring.

To manufacture a bicycle of course requires industry and the burning of fossil fuels. It would be a good solution for you instead of driving an electric car.
You could hitch a trailer on the back to enable you to carry supplies.

The world has been in a fossil fuel declined after they invented the
damned wheel. That is what started our rapid decimation. Outlaw wheels
and back to a better, cleaner, existence. Its for the children.

There is a big youth protest against climate change today. You won't see
many of them riding bicycles to them. One of the Canadian participants
is an indigenous girl from a northern community. Her flight to the UN in
NYC will likely make her the one with the single largest carbon foot print.

Â* The only fossil fuels used were - maybe - for the generation of
electricity for the slow cooker . If so , only a small percentage ,
because there are at least 2 very large hydroelectric plants within 50
miles . The pork shoulder was cooked over natural lump charcoal ...

Yes, and I wonder how many portable potties were supplied by the city that had
to be transported there and then removed and waste disposed of? Dang, those
fossil fuels are at it again.

How many of these week-end warriors stopped at any of the myriad eating places
to grab a bite to eat? Eating places that use gas and electricity to power
their cooling and cooking equipment; all fossil fuels.

You'd rather keep going the way we're going until we all live in a

Bruce; we're doomed. Eventually the sun will burn out and then we are really screwed. But a natDisaster could very well take us out before then. Can we actually colonize other worlds before we get the shaft?

The way it's going, we're giving ourselves the shaft before we can
colonise something else. If we even want that. Most planets we've seen
can't compete with planet Earth from a human perspective.

Amen druce. She is evil and does not realize the destruction caused
by people burning fuels and eating animals.

It is sad that the world can't be as pristine and perfect as druce
and kuth. But there's hope; kuth has an uzi, so he may be able to
effect a change in all this carbon burning.

My solution would be to be happy that people are starting to care
more. Even if they're not perfect, or the way they present the message
isn't perfect. At least more people are waking up.

When I was younger, I used to think, 'No Problem'. Meaning that mankind will save itself, whether by eliminating pollution, including fossil fuels, plastics etc. Now, I'm not so sure. Money makes the world go round, and the money is going to take us for all we're worth. We had a good documentary recently on TVO entitled 'Land Grabbing'. Man. The corporations will suck out the life of everything they can get there hands on. Putting people from poverty into worse poverty.

Yes, if you put the mentality of a big corporation into a human, you
get a psychopath.

If you bend over, we will all kiss your ass. In return, you must

Thats fine with me. When a monkey at the zoo protrudes it's rectum
and shits on the other monkeys, we all see it, druce. When you fling
shit, it's the same. Why hide it?

I do agree that it is strange that some people killfile you. I
prefer to shit straight in your face with you aware of it. I also
enjoy urinating in your ears and waiting for the whining.

Speaking of whiney bitches, you can start that right now.

Ignorance is one of the biggest problems. We can all do better if we
want to, but many just don't give a damn.

There is also denial and no understanding. It was chilly today,
therefore there is no global warming.

Yes. I think the problem is that people see this as a left wing or
liberal priority, so right wingers don't want anything to do with it
and go into denial. But it should be a universal concern.

There's nothing we can do about weather other than talk about it.
There is no more anyone can do about weather than they can do about
the tide and the passing of time.

Think, for just a moment, about what "they" want you to do about climate
change.

Stop burning oil and gas, and stop having so many children.

That will happen eventually. Why not now?

reduce population so there is room for the wild creatures and
the supporting populations of other creatures we need to survive.

yes, i've not had any children, yes i live a very simple life
and try to grow things to eat which is one of the best ways a
person can reduce their effects upon the wider world as 0 miles
transported foods.

i also don't have a car and rarely drive around for pleasure
or just to go do something. i like being at home.

it's a small house here so it doesn't cost as much to heat
or cool as many of the large places.

there are obvious downsides to living as i do, but i like
seeing the bugs and birds here and while i consider a lot of
the animals which feed on the gardens as pests they do have
the much wilder areas around us to keep their populations
going so that if i really did want to eat wild game several
times a week it could easily sustain that.

the downside i hate the most right now is the farm fields
around us which get frequently sprayed with poisons of various
kinds.

a person organically gardening a few acres can massively
outproduce any of the farmers fields around us, but because of
the labor involved people usually don't want to do that unless
they are subsistence farmers. which means that is what it will
become eventually if overpopulation keeps happening. the
larger problem with that though is that none of us will be
able to get off this planet if there are no extra resources
available for space exploration and creating habitats in other
places (the moon is a good start, but i would also like to
see humans colonise a few large asteroids because we do need
protection from radiation and that means mass).

Biosphere II was a good trial to show some of the things
needed in space colonisation. we're bound for space or
otherwise a dead end. we should get our butts movin'...

I complained about the burgeoning populaton years ago, un fortunately
people aren't going to stop unprotected fornication. No one needs
more than one child and most aren't fit to raise one. With far fewer
children far less fuel will be needed.
On average I drive ten miles a week and I haven't traveled by plane in
30 years and then only two short round trips. I beleive we need to
stop all the fuel wasting attempts at space travel...
WTF are we going to the moon, is there a shortage of green cheese?
Today I pruned two large maple trees, no power saw, all with handsaws,
a pole saw and a bow saw. I mow the grass, but mostly to curtail
brush fire damage.... if CA residents would stop building homes within
handshaking distance from conifer forests they wouldn't suffer so much
death and destruction... but Californians are the most ignorant
mutants on this planet... no third world country people deficate on
the streets where they live, even my cats know to use litter pans.
With all the universities in CA none teach Common Sense. There's not
a feral animal on this planet that doesn't know not to shit where they
live, except a Californian, most especially a CA politician.
Californians Schtinck, literally! I lived in CA for five years, I
left because Febreze had not yet been invented.

Why? Does it cause priapism, insane ranting, and delusions of grandeur?

Yes, it's notorious for it... well, apart from priapism as far as I
know It's quite a dangerous drug in many ways. It has a lot of side
effects, including loss of inhibitions and abnormal thinking - which
isn't a great combination in my view. There have even been cases of
people sleep driving, sleep shopping, even sleep painting their house.
Here is one link I just googled:

The Australian PM just promised to contribute 150 million to American
Mars stuff. In the meantime, his country's drying out and his farmers
and animals are starving. That money could have been used a lot
better.

Not to say it could have been used better, but isn't that less than
the budget of a major motion picture?

Sounds like a drop in the bucket to me.

Then it won't be missed by the Americans. Locally however:

"- 7.5 million small square bales of hay
- roughly 880,000 large round bales
- 7.5 million bags of basic stock pellets
- roughly 30 BILLION litres of water from our local council water
collection station

Worst drought in recorded history, a number of regional towns will run
out of water within weeks, record bushfire season, record dust storm
activity etc... This country is desperate.

But yeah, sure, the Moon is fun too, I guess."
