Not only that, but it served a housing need for people who don't want to maintain a lawn. Cindy Hamilton |

Cindy. Anyone that bought one of those units would have no worries hiring a yard guy. No yard left at all worth speaking of. Each unit cost over $1 million. This is prime real estate only 1 block from the ocean. Just the annual property tax is insane up that way. |

After completion I turned on HGTV's "House Hunters" program and I'm thinking, "dang, that looks like my neighborhood!" Well, it was and one of the three houses that was featured on that program that day was the tall, skinny duplex. Four bedrooms, four baths and admittedly it was gorgeous inside and the asking price was $440,000. Mind you, that's just one side of the duplex and the buyers were bitching because it didn't have a garage. If you're willing to pay full price for the duplex, shut up and spend a bit more and have a garage built. Buyers paid full price for their side so most likely after the dust settled the other side probably went for $440,000, too. That would make the entire duplex probably selling for $880,000; I'm not interested enough to look up the tax records which are available to anyone and online. |
