Default I'm having a pretzel today.

I'm having a pretzel today, so you can **** right off. You and your hoity toity cuisine; smoked tomato water, foam of parmesan, sous vide of elk loin with maple infused wild duck liver sauce. And it just goes on and on don't it?
Tomorrow, it'll be a big mac copy cat.

What the heck do you have against smoked tomato water? Our club president had been going on and on about some pretzels he had. One of the members got him several bags of the stuff. Evidently, it's hard to get on this rock. He was gushing like a little girl. I'm thinking "dude, it's pretzels!" Hee hee.

It has come up to my level of conscientiousness that some people really like pretzels. I'm not a big fan. I kinda like those peanut butter filled ones sold in big tubs from Costco. Beats me why, they're not very pleasant to eat. My guess is that what I really like is peanut butter. Come to think of it, I could go for some right now. Unfortunately, the last time we were at Costco, I asked my wife if we could get some. She said she didn't care for them. Rats!

I had some pork dumplings yesterday amongst other goodies at the Chinese
buffet. I hope that's not to hoity-toity for 'Wendy.' I'm toying with
the idea of steak fingers tonight; I promise not to eat them on fine china.

I like the soft pretzels but not the crunchy ones you get at the grocery store.

Hi Wendy! I think your yeast infection has reached your brain. Now
it's a loaf of bread. Hope you enjoyed your pretzel.

All I can say is AMEN. They probably were invented as a way of
squeezing a few pennies out of leftover dough with a few added
ingredients.

Maybe druce can give us an ingredient list or recipe or something.

I'd never do that. I post an ingredient list instead:

"Snyder's of Hanover Pretzels:
Unbleached Wheat Flour, Water, Malt, Salt, Dextrose, Canola Oil (Adds
a Trivial Amount of Fat), Yeast, Soda."

Not much wrong with that. Yay!

Tasteless lumps of dough, IMO.

I like the soft ones that are available at malls but I don't care for mustard
on them which seems to be the norm.

THANK YOU DRUCE!

I knew yoose would come through. And AMAZED yoose actually found
something acceptable. I hereby award yoose the coveted GOLDEN WOODEN
SHOE AWARD (with 10 star cluster)!

What next? Joolie may find suggestions that work?

Nah, not in this lifetime.

There's a brand my husband likes but once he had to cut his salt
instake back, it fell off his scope so he could use the salt where it
matters more to him.

I do make the soft ones sometimes at home, but that's because I like to
play in the kitchen with bread experiments. Can't say as it's a regular
thing.

They're probably far superior than what's offered at the malls, but, unfortunately, the mall variety is all I've been exposed to. The price
of them at the malls though would have you think you're getting a steak
dinner.

That whole business has to have been shut down. Too much freedom. Too
little regulation. You could have died!

Especially the guys on the street corner. I think it was 6 for a
dollar. They would be at a light at a busy intersection grabbing the
evening rush hour. It was always a dollar a bag, transaction took about
3 seconds. The bought them at the factory and doubles their money, all
cash.

I imagine they saved the cash to invest in stocks, perhaps mutual funds.
After setting aside their taxes of course.

I was wondering the same thing. Are they what we here call steak tails? Steak tails can either be from the bottom part of a T-bone/Porterhouse, or cut into thick strips from the bottom sirloin.

My wife and I are both doing okay living on pensions that involved
investment in those evil corporations.
