Unfortunately the taste makes me feel like spitting it out. Tilapia has that same nasty, scummy, taste. My guess is that some people are genetically unable to experience this unpleasant taste or they were raised on the meat and are immune to this unpleasant experience. That's unfortunate for me because the flesh of the catfish has an excellent texture and they yield some big, meaty, filets. >> > >> > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKD9LgN2Yx4 >> > >> You need to try farm raised catfish. > >I have, and it still tastes like shitty mud. > >Cindy Hamilton That's because catfish are primarily opportunistic bottom feeding scavengers, they eat anything including the excrement of other creatures.... anyone who's ever had a home aquarium knows this. It's always recommended to populate an aquarium with some catfish to clean up the unsightly excrement. Catfish have poor vision but have an excellent sence of smell and use those barbles to locate and stir up food. Personally I would never eat catfish. |
