Default My late lunch yesterday

Very late. Like at 4pm. First and only meal of the day but
very tasty.

https://www.hostpic.org/images/1910232222140097.jpg

You see broccoli, corn, peas, snow peas, 6 tater tots,
and 4 oz ham with that raisin sauce. Not shown was
one slice of 12-grain bread, toasted and buttered.

I was happy with just this one feast and done for the day.

Glad you liked it. Those tater tots look way too pale to please
my family. We cook them in the oven at like 500 F until they're
brown and crispy. (I might exaggerate about the temperature, but
we take them a good 50 F higher than the package specifies.)

I found other problems, but saw fit to comment only on one of them.

My husband and I are all the family we need.

It looks a bit like something Sheldon could make.

More than one? Please do let yourself go and say the rest.
I would honestly like to hear your entire review. I'll respond.

Note: if any is about presentation, I've said many times that
I don't care what it looks like just for me. I know it tastes
good. I would have served that differently if any others were
here.

Raisin sauce. I'm glad you liked it, but no fruit with meat for me.

We even eat our cranberry-orange relish for dessert at Thanksgiving,
rather than as part of the meal (or--shudder--apply it to the turkey).

I honestly don't see the point of tater tots if they aren't crisp. I'd
rather eat a slice of bread than a wet tater tot.

Have you ever cooked a ham steak on the grill? If not, try it sometime and
it only takes a few minutes per side. Rinse and pat dry that steak first to
remove any salt solution. Fried apples also go really well with the ham.

What you saw there was all frozen vegetables, thawed over
night with a lid. So they were now cold and I added the
cold ham with raisin sauce.

I took this picture right before I put a lid on and
microwaved it all to very hot. It was good.

And yes, those were plain tater tots just microwaved.
Even hot they were the same color. It was ok to do
that with this meal. The hot tots were just cut up and
eaten (in the same spoon) with green vegetables.
Didn't upset me.

I have said in the past though that tater tots are
'ok in a pinch' just microwaved. Better tater tops
are cooked in the oven. BEST tater tots are deep fried.
