I've been to a few stores, and they all want $6.99CD for a 213 gram can. I like it better than the pink salmon, so it's my canned salmon of choice. Yesterday, I managed to find a can for $5.49, a bit of a bargain. I'll have an open faced sandwich on flaxseed rye bread, with thinly sliced onions on top.

But this really doesn't have anything to do with your preference for sockeye salmon but do you like sardines?? I love them and generally buy the King Oscar brand, packed in oil and eaten on saltines. |

Maybe it was the wrong brand??? I keep thinking that I should try them again. We're talking the canned sardines?? When I was a youngster, I loved anchovies on pizza. I haven't had that for years either. |

I haven't had that for years either. Most canned anchovies typically too salty! Granted anchovies properly cured in salt are salty but not too salty, as in the salt curing process the salt pulls water out da meat, is brushed off and discarded! NOT eaten with the anchovies! True dat! Anchovies that are salt-packed are "less" salty than most. OTOH, beware of gout! "Salt-packed" anchovies make me discover I was prone to it! ![]() nb |
