Yeah yeah they say people are drinking less cows milk but I know the truth. The cows are just sick and tired of having their juices sucked out by machines, so they all went on strike. The next thing you know the wheat companies will go out of business because the gluten went on strike because it was not causing enough cancer -- ____/~~~sine qua non~~~\____ |

They are also interested in a balanced budget, but who needs that when you can have endless spending. I think all our politicians have given up on the deficit, and corporate welfare buys them votes. However, if a Democrat is elected President the Republicans will be happy to whine about the deficits again. We've got either Tax and Spend Democrats or Slash Taxes and Spend Republicans. One of Trumpsters trade wars involved Canadian steel and aluminum, imposed under the pretense of some national security bullshit. Canada retaliated with similar tariffs against American steel products. They eventually hammered out a deal but for a while the US was refusing to consider dropping its tariffs on Canadian products until Canada dropped its retaliatory tariffs. |

My wife keeps buying vanilla yogurt. I usually only eat it because it's there. Then when it is finally used up she goes out and gets more for me. I have to admit that I once had a very pleasant yogurt experience. It was the first almost solid meal I had after heart surgery. They had brought me some low fat, no sugar yogurt. It was soft and cool and required no effort to chew. |

The whole system stinks though. We also have dairy farmers that have been in the business for generations and feel entitled even if there is less demand for their product. I guess they like the government subsidies. |

I think we can all agree Trump is a buffoon. I'm a bit sad to hear this quintessential America Dairy provider is going belly up after 94 years. They managed to make it through the Depression, fer cryin' out loud. As I mentioned upthread, I remember when they still delivered dairy products in midtown Memphis. In the 1980's. They were right down the street on Madison Avenue. No one else offered home delivery. No, I did not avail myself of it but I knew it was available. The apartment building I lived in at the time even had a small door that opened from the butler's pantry onto the shared hallway. So the milkman could drop off milk, cream, butter, just slide it in. It was like a pet-door. LOL The apartment building was built around 1920. That was a nifty apartment. I digress. It's rather sad to hear an old business is going away. Jill |

It is annoying as hell for us to have Trump trying to dictate how we should manage our market when the US is paying huge subsidies to American farmers. |

Sure, the farmer's get next to zilch fer their product/hard work, but it's yer stprmkt's fault fer charging so damn much. Did you know the stprmkt's primary profit maker IS milk! Everyone! ....needs cow's milk, right? Prolly not. I use it, half n' half to supplement my blueberry smoothies. I don't need to. I could "milk a nut (BTDT)", but I do. Fer some things, it's jes right (country gravy (evap milk), some baked goods, etc), fer others, "nut milk" will do. ![]() nb |
