Only a dire emergency (out of butter, for example) would send me shopping on Thanksgiving (or Christmas). Given that I'm organized and prepared (and usually have a couple of pounds of butter in the basement freezer), that's vanishingly unlikely. Not sure where the recipe originated by we've had it probably 50 years. This time though, I'm going to change it. Instead of milk, I'm going to use 1/3 milk, 2/3 heavy cream. |
