Default Corn Times!

Heres my second time making cornmeal dumplings with ham and beans. The
first time I had dense dumplings in broth. This time I made a better
dumpling, but the broth nearly disappeared. Next time, Ill use a pot
instead of a pan to make the damned things with a lot of broth. The dumplings
were fine, but we sure could have used more broth.

Ill pass on inflicting more corn stuff on the group for a while. Im not
as crazy about it as my posts appear. Nevertheless, I never heard of a corn
dumpling until reading about them here. Its all your fault.

I've eaten them twice; first time was at my aunt's house in Amarillo and I
thought she had lost her mind. Them my mom made them and both times they
were cooked in the broth of a pork roast and both times they were delicious..
Theirs were shaped like quenelles.

I can't say that I've ever heard of cornmeal dumplings and chicken but that's
not to say it doesn't exist.

My suggestion is that you bake your dumplings and then lay the little darlings on top of your ham and beans. You'll be glad you did.
