Default Christmas.... Bring it on

I am ready. I have done just about everything I need to do. The fruit
cake was made over a month ago. The rest of the baking was done a
couple weeks ago. I did a massive cleaning. Presents are bought and
wrapped. My wife has to go out and pick up the turkey tomorrow. One of
us has to pick up the rolls that were ordered.

Christmas Day will be spent at my wife's church's community dinner. Our
family Christmas dinner will be on Boxing Day with my son and his girl
friend, my brother and SiL, a nephew and his girlfriend and daughter.

I did my ham today and Tuesday I'll make a Gooey Butter Cake.

We exchanged names and the present that I have to bring is in a gift bag.

I've had all my shopping done and wrapped for a week now. The house is
clean, but it doesn't matter because we wont' be here.

We are going to my daughter's place tomorrow morning and staying until
Christmas night. I did Thanksgiving dinner, so it's her turn now.

She's making a prime rib roast, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, carrots,
roasted potatoes, and I don't know what else.

My contribution is pound cake:

Apple cinnamn cake (my husband absolutely insists on this every
holiday)

And boozy eggnog:

Oh yipee!! Celebrating the day an imaginary god was born that
eventually has lead to several wars, millions upon millions upon
millions dead, the rape and torture of young boys and girls. The
senseless murder of innocent people that just wanted to be left alone
with their own beliefs in magical fairies.

Sounds like one hell of a party!! Enjoy your winter solstice but do
remember EXACTLY why the day is actually celebrated as christmas and
not the winter solstice now. If you are not sure I will tell you.
Because the fist christians MURDERED the pagans because the christians
wanted the attention.

I combined cauliflower, corn, basil, tamari, gluten free flower and a
few other things and made a vegan cornbread dressing dinner roll It is
pretty freakin awesome. I made about a dozen yesterday so I froze
them. I have eaten two today because they's good as ****!

They have a semi crisp outer layer and you bite into a soft bread like
inside that has the perfect amount of spice. Since I am from the south
I also added some pickled (dill) okra that I eat with it.

I've got some prep today:

Fruit salad and breakfast casserole.

Rather a lot of fruit salad, and a small (8x8 square pan) of breakfast
casserole.

Tomorrow will be construction of twice-baked potatoes and roasting the
standing rib roast.
