Depending on where it's held and the occasion, we call those buffets, picnics,
dead spreads, company get togethers, etc. Most of the foods at these functions
are attractively displayed and a good many are homemade dishes and not some
fast food, takeout boxes flopped on a table.

What's wrong with the chicken, Cindy? Did you look it up?
Probably better tasting than any you make, or me, or
anyone else here.

I don't make fried chicken. I don't deep-fry at home.

If I were taking a picture of food, I'd make sure everything in
it was pristine, including cropping out anything that looked
unsightly or irrelevant.

I didn't see any food other than a bowl of cookies. Anyway nothing
wrong with Church chicken.. It would be my choice for fast food fried
chicky.

Anyway he was probably too busy watching Barney Sanders directing the
orchestra to cook.

I haven't had Church's Chicken in decades. I thought the last one left the isles back in the nineties but it seems that they still have a presence - a single one in Aiea is still hanging on. That's amazing.

I posted from work as well but they did have games blocked out. Then I
bought one of the 11 inch Chromebooks and there were games galore.

Looks like a meth lab...and is that a cockroach at the bottom of the pic...

Anyways, the pic is a perfect exemplar of St. Louis "hoosier" kulture...in STL "hoosier" is an extremely derogatory term for "white trash" aka "hillybilly"...more he

I'm just not a picture-taker.

Actually, I do take pictures. Just not of food. Let's open up the old
smartphone and see the last picture I took...

It appears to be a picture of a dozen 40-pound bags of topsoil and
compost (6 of each), with a bucketful of black walnuts. Taken on
26 October 2019.

I have a FOUNDLING Android HTC Desire 610 I use EXCLUSIVELY for taking pics! And I USB them to my MacinSLUT to get them on the "TOY computer" then to PostImages.org to post them HERE among other places!

I do not HAVE any cell service to it though!! I have a cheap $5/mo for 80mins which I hardly ever use for when I DO need a portable PHONE! Like to call a Craigslist advertiser to buy cool electronic gear!

Church's Fried Chicken, no less. Some of the worst tasting, greasiest
take-out fried chicken ever. These fast food chicken joints are *not*
generally located in swank parts of town. LOL

Smutz. I don't see anything "coommon in many cultures" in this photo.

What's wrong with it? Fast food tortured chicken and prefab sweets. I
thought all y'all loved that kind of stuff.

My first and only experience with Church's was about 40 years ago. The
Chicken was soaked with grease as if the oil hadn't been nearly hot
enough and had an old semi-rancid taste. I threw the chicken away and
haven't gone to a Church's since. I recall reading a study that said
people that have a bad first experience with a food-chain will often
never go to that chain ago.

I guess you've never tasted Church's Chicken. It's greasy and way over
salted. I've only ever seen Church's Fried Chicken joints in low-income
areas.

Is that a problem for you, princess? You lived in Memphis, of all
places, and inherited a home outside of an area where scary people
live. Don't forget you are below low-income because your parents worked
hard.

There WAS a Church's Chicken for YEARS at Skinker and Delmar, but now that it's gone I am quite sure it will be redeveloped at GENTRIFIED expensive Student Housing for all those RICH CHINESE people sending their sons and daughters to WashU for some of the U.S. BEST education! I saw the Fall Semester coming in down there, LOTS of Chinese!

WE SENT U.S MONEY TO CHINA for 30 years, via that evil corporation MalWart!

And we always though WE were so smart! HA! ;-)

As we all know, the Chinese are indeed smarter than us Americans. They're also smarter than the Koreans or Japanese too. That's the breaks.
