Default Strawberry slushies and a new blender

I've been making some raspberry wine slushies the past couple of weeks.
The blender though, is finally going to die and I could smell the motor
getting hot. It is an Oster blender and I'm disappointed that it only
lasted about 45 years. Maybe I should have bought the extended warranty.

So, my new blender arrived this morning. After all these years the
glass container still fits on the new one so I have a spare. Local
strawberries are in the markets now so I picked up 3 quarts this
morning, sliced and sugared them. So, another day or so it will be
slushie time. Strawberries, white wine, a little rum, ice, hit the button!

This blender will not have to last 45 years for me.

My Cuisinart food processor bit the dirt before Xmas and I replaced it
in an after Xmas sale. I can see the progress they have made but like
you, it doesn't have to last long and I don't think it will have 45
years life in it. (I think it was around 45 years, it was the first
model they came out with in NA and nobody else was making food
processors then, I replaced the main blade at one point)

I am going to try vanilla icecream and frozen mango pieces, saw Jamie
Oliver do that it looked good.

Odds are 100% certain you won't last another 45 years.... but still
for as long as you are fixing slushies why not with the best machine.
My Oster blender (Osterizer) is some 60 years old and still working
like brand new,.. and hardly a week has passed that I haven't used it,
I make smoothies constantly, often 2-3 times a week.

My Oster is about 40 years old but it doesn't get much use.

Mine gets used in spurts. I'll use it every day for a couple of weeks
and then it sits for two months.

When my wife used to back it was good for chopping nits. We have a
couple of pint size plastic cups made to replace the glass container and
they can be capped to store. Also a mini food processor attachment.
That is why I bought the same brand as years later it all fits.
