They are built for gas or electric and perfect match for the picture
you posted of the new stove. Lots of variations on them for special
needs but the basic one there will solve your issue.

Unless it's totally flat on the bottom, it's not recommended for use with
this stove. And the product got terrible reviews.

Why did I bother? You are simply wrong you know, but continue on trying
to simmer on a larger burner with too small a pot.

Oh, and all reviews have a few negatives. This one has an almost 5star
rating.

Your stove is electric, a flame tamer won't work with an electric
stove.

I'd just stick a cast iron pan on the burner and cook off of that. OTOH, there's no need to do that with an induction range. The heat control is so fine that it's ridiculous. It's so precise that it can be used for sous vide. OTOH, for folks that need extra help with the concept:

They didn't consult Popeye when they wrote the description.

It's also not for use in goat barns!

Look up the link Sheldon. That one is for both types.

"Absorbs and diffuses heat evenly for greater energy efficiency;
eliminates hot pan and pot handles; safe for use on electric, gas, and
glass stovetops"

A flame tamer, used so a larger burner can do a slow simmer.

With my gas stove, any burner can do a slow simmer.

Mine doesn't (nor did the old one reliably). Thats ok. I just use
