I got some new (to me) pita bread at Winco. I got whole wheat but they also
had white. It's not the pocket type but has perforations down the middle. I topped it with hummus and pico de gallo. Yum! |

Yum! The white would be great stuffed with good Genoa salami, provalone, and Guldens spicey brown... you can have all the fercocktah hummus... something Greek Style plumbers use for setting toilet bowls. |

No, I'll take my Genoa and provolone with red-wine vinegar and EVOO. That's just about what I had for lunch today: an Italian-style sub from Jimmy John's. Cindy Hamilton |

Real pitas are really good when they are fresh, but they don't keep well in the bag, in a fridge or even in a freezer. |

There's a Middle Eastern market across the street from my office that has an in-store bakery, where a bunch of middle-aged ladies make pita. It's great fresh, but doesn't store well. Cindy Hamilton |

Evidently, pita with perforations are a relatively new development, if this patent is any indication. http://www.freepatentsonline.com/4597979.html |

I've heard they are good in other locations. The one I tried here was no good. Stale bread, boring sandwich. Wasn't my choice to go there. Was not my friend's location. Hers are not near here. |

Caught in another vortex of stupidity and you resort to a silly insult. I had written that real pitas are good when they are fresh, but that they don't keep well, not even in the freezer, and then you say that is nonsense because when you made them they didn't last long because they were eaten up. Really???? |

Really???? Really!!!! I doubt Julie ate them all herself... she gets company, but not BN who would polish off hundreds. Pita freezes very well, and heats up to freshly baked in a toaster. |

Your claim that your pitas are eaten up immediately is irrelevant to what I said about fresh pitas not keeping well. |

Use your brain Dave! ![]() ![]() ![]() Jesus Christ you are ****ing dense. I said the good fresh pitas don't keep well. Pretending that yours are so ****ing delicious that they get eaten up right away does not negate that fact that, heaven forbid your dysfunctional clan of picky eaters did not use them up right away, they would not be so wonderful if you had to keep wrapped up for a couple days. |
