Default Dinner Tonight

Home ground burgers, 12 ounces, forgot to buy rolls but will try them
as flour tortilla wraps, with avocado and sour cream with a few
squirts of Melindas... wife will have a Corona brewski, I'll have a
Crystal Palace with Sprite and a lemon wedge. Tops had very nice
avocados, four for a buck, got eight.... very good with many black
bean and canned diced tomato dishes.
Raining here, only 55º, wife's skiing was cut short... slope lost tons
of machine made snow. Ski season is probably over, golf is next. I
don't do either, soon I'll be planting the garden and mowing. Wife
will be weeding and harvesting, I'll be cooking. There won't be much
weeding as I lay down weed-block cloth.

We had a nice, rich, tasty beef stew. It was cooked and simmered last
night and spent the night in the fridge, then went into a 300F oven for
a couple hours. Delicious.

I cooked for the first time in 9 days. Could have made it another but I
wanted to use what I had. Leftovers, dinner at my son's and more
leftovers I was set for a while.

I made a rib eye roast back on the 22nd. I cut off some of it to trim
for the rotisserie. Today I ground it up and made meatloaf with it.
Cut up a russet and a sweet potato and roasted the chunks along with the
meatloaf.

I even had leftovers for breakfast. Back to the rib roast dinner, my
daughter and husband stayed over so Sunday I made bacon and blueberry
pancakes for breakfast and had some left for another day.

I cooked some Rao's handmade pasta. The large twists. Added the leftover
spinach and mozzarella pupusa filling, some frozen meatballs, canned red
sauce and whatever bits and piece of Italian cheese I had in the fridge.
Excellent!

I had some Korean noodles with black bean sauce. I added in some chuck steak from the other night. Damn, it was tasty!

We had leftover scalloped potatoes, with ham and broccoli. A nice, easy
Tuesday night dinner after work.

What's with all that liquid, practically a soup, needs thickening.
Only one pea?!?!? That plastic fork and plastic bowl scream take-out.
All your dishes look alike... POW crap, you must buy them all from the
same take-out. Hula-Hula noodles with stir fried ukelele rat. LOL

After a comment like that, perhaps you should post a picture of your burger
in tortilla and see what other people make of it.

The noodles are Paldo Jja Jangmen. They are thick and chewy and not like regular instant ramen. The thing about the Asians is that they don't test the noodles for al dente - they'll just cook according to time. I cooked these noodles for 5 minutes and they came out perfect. Here's how to eat them.

This is perfectly normal. There's nothing to worry about. That guy thinks he's Don Rickles but he's really Andrew Dice Clay.

A 12 ounce burger is a fatty joke in the first place.
Like eating 3 quarter pounders. One does me fine.
Using a tortilla for it is even dumber.

Nothing comes closer to dumb than fast food mystery meat burgers.

I can't say if wrapping a hamburger in a tortilla is dumb. I suppose it all depends on whether or not one has the proper fineness to pull it off. OTOH, wolfing down nearly a pound of ground meat probably means you're a animal of some sort. I'm guessing it would be a Horndog.

A beef patty wrapped in a tortilla sounds more like a hot dog than burger.
Maybe Sheldon will post a picture so we can see for ourselves.

A beef patty has nothing to do with a hotdog.

No, that's unacceptable. In Sheldon's case, maybe his Crystal Palace
has a cumulative effect.

How else might you wrap a burger patty in a tortilla? Are you assuming
there's a big circular lump half way along the wrapped tortilla?

Maybe the beef patty was re-shaped or cut up to fit, which is why I said a
picture would be useful.

I vaguely remember someone saying Sheldon used to post as Sydelle but I
don't go that far back.

My wife tries to avoid carbs. She often uses a tortilla or a half a
pita instead of a hamburger bun. I am not even sure if there are more
carbs in a hamburger bun than there are in a tortilla, but she is happy
thinking there is.

My favorite form of noodle is from french cooking, which is highly buttered and has a lot of S&P and is cooked with plenty of chicken fat. Now, I guess that many Japanese ramen dishes have the chicken fat aspect, but not the butter. Once you have heavily buttered noodles, you never forget it. I just don't like it when the french add ham, after that.

I never posted as Sydelle. she was a childhood friend when we were
about ten years old, was no posting back then. Sydelle is still
alive. she's married with two grown children. We occasionally email,
but very occasionally, mostly we phone each other maybe every two
months... she's difficult to get on the phone as she spends a lot of
time with her older brother in Florida. After all those years we
really don't know each other anymore. Sydelle used to be my
rollerskating dance partner at Park Circle. Brooklyn, NY, an indoor
rink adjacent to Prospect Park. We were never a romantic item, just
childhood friends... we lived directly across the street from each
other.

Originally I posted as penmart10, i.e. Pen Martin... I collect
fountain pens, still. One day AOL did some sort of update and I lost
penmart10 and needed to choose a new name so I chose penmart01.
Eventually, after 6 months, I was able to get penmart10 back but I
never use that addy anymore. I never posted under any other names.
Some people forged my posts or at least made failed attempts. no one
can pretend to be me, probably what you saw. I've never attempted to
pose as other than myself, I take full credit for all my posts.

That sounds more like Jewish cooking, Kugel, made with egg noodles.
with lots of butter blended with beaten eggs. There are several
versions, sometimes just sn'p but usually cinnamon, brown sugar, and
raisins.

I have had pasta with butter and cheese. The same could be done with ramen noodles. That would probably be pretty tasty. I'd leave out the chicken fat though.

When I was living near Waikiki, I had a friend who's always pour out the rest of the soup when she was finished eating the ramen noodles. That was so funny !!

That's peculiar. I can't say how funny it would be because I've never seen that done. I guess it depends on the person.
