I asked this morning if they were local and they are, we are also in touch with a local fisherman so for the time being we are all back to fish, glorious fish, not what's left over after all the good stuff is exported. I managed them all, it was a duty really, they wouldn't taste as good tomorrow ![]() |

They are the perfect simple dinner. Make sure they are nice and dry, season with a little salt and pepper, heat up a pan, apply just a tiny bit of oil, slap the scallops on for a bit, flip them over and eat. Just make sure there is a good sear on them for taste and texture. They don't need to be cooked all the way through. |

Given the price of scallops around here, I would consider 3-4 to be a serving for one. If price were no object I would eat them by the dozen. I love scallops, and this is my favourite way to cook them. |

I don't feel like risking a visit there. I buy frozen sea scallops and here's why. The raw sea scallops in the seafood case aren't straight off a boat. They always have a sign in front of them that says "previously frozen". I appreciate Publix being transparent about that but why would I want to buy previously frozen (then thawed scallops when I can buy a 1 lb. resealable bag of flash frozen sea scallops for half the price? I've never been disappointed in them and I can portion out as many or as few as I want and thaw them myself. I love, love, love scallops! Jill |

You have not tasted scallops until you taste them fresh out of the water, totally different to frozen. These were fresh from the water and can I ever taste the difference. |

I finally turned to her and said, "If you don't stop that, I'm going to spank you." To our surprise, she immediately turned and ran back into her bedroom and shut the door. About 5 minutes later she came back and looked at me defiantly and said, "Go ahead and spank me dad, see if I care!" So, jokingly, I turned her around and gave her a little swat on her butt. But it didn't feel right and she also starting giggling, so I said, "Wait a minute here." I lifted up her nightgown and saw that when she had run into the bedroom, she put on about 12 pairs of panties to pad her butt. LOL. Too funny! |

There were no props used, just quick smack of the hand. Beating a child will only make the kid blame and hate the one who beats them. To be effective, a spank has to be immediate so they associate their action with the discomfort that followed. |

It was just a gesture to show extreme disapproval. Very often, just a frown or even a raised eyebrow did the trick. Speaking of children, I need to call my daughter soon. Today is her birthday. And again...don't forget Sheldon here. His birthday today too. |
