Default Meat supply forecast ?

Has anybody seen/heard anything about the meat supply chain ? The
store we buy meat from has plenty on the shelves , but the prices are
kinda frightening . We still have enough to last about another month ,
but I'm looking forward to replenishing the freezer when prices are once
again reasonable .

There was plenty of all meats when I shopped this past Thursday. That included
the frozen chicken breasts as well as the fresh offerings.

I forgot to mention they had an impressive supply of Boston butts which
looked unimpressive to me. Also, lots and lots of pork ribs ready for
the smoker.

You think the prices are frightening, how about the meat processing plants? Now THOSE are frightening! Except to E, coli and infectious agents like that, and of course the ANIMALS are being KILLED and processed!

Which is why I went 100% Vegetarian! And have a wonderful 100% vegetarian BreakFAST this AM!! :-) Beans, rice and Garlic Potatoes! And a luscious Mango!

But NO animals were KILLED for MY BreakFast! Nor my lunch or dinner!

The meat case was full when I shopped earlier in the week and the
prices were lower than usual, I stocked up on center cut loin pork
chops and top round steaks for London broil and grinding.

Eww I hear that thing is so full of chemicals and other crap
Water, textured wheat protein, coconut oil, potato protein, natural
flavors, 2% or less of leghemoglobin (soy), (yeast extract, it is
basically MSG)
salt, konjac gum, xanthan gum, soy protein isolate, vitamin E,
vitamin C, thiamine (vitamin B1), zinc, niacin, vitamin B6, riboflavin
(vitamin B2), and vitamin B12.May 5, 2020

that is one of those super processed foods that I would not touch. but
that goes for any and all fast food or any food made a restaurants.

Well john if it was not for the meats and all the radiation and
viruses than you would still be running around beating your hands on
your chests and climbing trees.. Wait bad example. I would not be the
one running around beating my hands on my chest.

You're right. I try to avoid chemicals like "water". It's a killer.

A hundred years ago, foods were less processed. A hundred years from now foods will be more processed. My guess is that eating meat will be considered unthinkable. That's the natural progress of mankind. What the heck you got against progress?

Oh I totally agree, but they are basically serving a watered down soy
and wheat mix with a bunch of other chemicals

It's probably not healthy for humans to eat but my guess is that it's comparable to the real thing. Perhaps, one day, they'll make a healthy alternative to fake meat.

....

Truedat! You know the LD50 of water? About 6 gallons! Water intoxication kills because your body tries to pull the excess water out of your circulatory systen by tucking it into cells, which works wonderfully causing the cells to swell up, which is OK except for the cells in your skull, causing confusion, coma then death!

Water intoxication kills because your body tries to pull the excess water out of your circulatory systen by tucking it into cells, which works wonderfully causing the cells to swell up, which is OK except for the cells in your skull, causing confusion, coma then death!

My father-in-law was hospitalized because he ODed on water. He had read in a book by some Iranian guy that water could cure all your ills. The treatment for this if simply no water and diuretics. Well that's what I recall anyway. It was quite pitiful watching him beg people to give him a little water. You'd think he was cast adrift at sea.

I on the other hand, need to up my intake of water. I have to regain my thirst for water - it's been lost somewhere along the way.

You got something against vitamins?

I personally applaud their efforts. I'll bet they are even better
when I try Impossible burgers, again, a year from now. Right now, I'm
looking fer a smoker fer less than $100usd (ECB's no longer being
made)

nb

BTW, notbob, that veggie burger wasn't served on a *gluten-free* bun.
Apparently someone needs to be flogged.
