I just Bozo-binned a bunch of cross posters. Please do not cross post
us to alt.home.repair.

If you think we don't stay on topic, I assure you they are 10 times
worse.

It's getting a bit full here. Maybe add a floor? I want some privacy.

Sometimes even you don't understand what you write.

I'm with you on this. Strange post for sure. Have you seen any cross-
posting here? All I've seen is the Gmail dummies dragging up ancient
threads and replying like we've been on tenterhooks awaiting their
reply all these years.

Sometimes cshenkie only talks because she wants to come across smart
and clued in. Those attempts have the opposite effect.

I have. There's been a few. The last one (and response)
was just 2 days ago.

That's sometimes when it gets too boring, though. To dredge-up unfinished business from the late 90's, etc...

Alt.home.repair is just a garbage group now. It's everything but home
repair with the rare on-topic post.

It's generally a safe bet that anything cross posted is going to be
something stupid. Some poor saps are desperate for attention.

A lot of these cross-posting posts are race-baiting of the most heinous sort and are posted by hate groups, commie troll farms, law enforcement agencies, and good old fashioned nutcases. You complain about them being cross-posted and not staying on topic. That's like complaining that Hitler was mostly a poor dancer. That's goofy as hell.

Not really. Can you tell us more about hitler's dancing?

There are lots of total ****ing assholes who managed to get themselves
filtered in the groups that they most want to disrupt. If they want to
keep annoying that group they post to a number of groups. They count on
people in one group replying and not bothering to check for cross
posting. Then the idiocy they initially sent out gets included in the
reply and it goes out to all the cross posted groups. People in the
target group don't see the name of the OP in the header, so their posts
end up in that group.

My filtering for cross posted messages seems to be working fairly well.
It's not perfect, but it seems to get most of it.

That's fantastic, Dave. A shame it's not perfect. Keep us posted.
