I thought New York and California were the intelligent part of the

They didn't seem to notice him, much. I read recently that he spent all his
free time going back to New York so he could pretend to be a player in
the real estate market there.

I complain about the heat and humidity as well. It's our prerogative when
we live in hot, humid climates. I don't know about Jill, but I get no
ocean breezes here to deal with the heat and humidity.

You complain the banks aren't open at the crack of dawn so we're even.
Shut your yap or hit the banks when they open, not when you want them
to open.

I wouldn't like it either, especially around the house. I can be lazy,
but not that lazy.

You seem to only know 3 modes of talking: bitching (your favourite),
gossiping (your second favourite) and sucking up (oh, that's so funny,
Ed). But there's also such a thing as normal talking. Try it!

We took the father rooster to the vet because he wasn't walking
anymore. Turned out he had an abdominal tumor and they put him down.

I'm sorry if I gave you the impression I was one of Trump's class mates at

Ducks and Geese make good security systems. Guinea fowl too, if you
can tolerate the noise.

When we first moved here our neighbours had geese. They were
intimidating enough to make my Bouvier des Flandres nervous.

There are some free range guinea fowl at the corner, a half mile down
the road. There are often four of them out walking around. They cross
the street but don't seem to range more than about 100 yards from the home.

Oh no! I meant that you can show us your net-sleuthing skills to get to

So would mine! The small apartment complex where I lived in Cordova, TN
was sort of out in the boonies. There were some people who lived down
the street who had a small farm. Always pretty chickens running around
in the front yard. Free range! They had a rooster that would start
crowing before daybreak. That bird was annoying.

I remember the "watch geese" at the lumberyard that was across the
street from our house in Bangkok. Noisy! The owners lived on the
premises and the geese would certainly alert them if someone entered the
yard at night. The geese would likely chase and try to bite them, too.

Whatever. Seems you bring up weather more often than I do, along with
frequent references to the beach. I don't start threads about weather
unless there's a hurricane. Sure I stay inside when it's 95F (+)
outside and the humidity is 94%. Why on earth should I feel all hot and
sticky if I don't have to?

I love being able to open the windows and to sit outside. I even sit
outside when the temperature is in the 90's... if the humidity is low.
But no, I won't give up my air conditioning.

It does rain a lot but that doesn't bother me a bit. I sleep really
well when there's a nice thunderstorm.

You're deflecting. What is it I'm supposed to be jealous about?

Actually, we get very nice breezes. Depends on the time of year.
Crosswinds, sometimes. I like sitting outside when the wind will blow
up from one direction... wait a minute and the wind comes back from the
other direction. It's relaxing to watch the tops of the trees as as the
wind changes direction. Interesting. Doesn't usually happen when it's
extremely hot and humid, though.

Do I complain about the rain? It doesn't bother me. Keeps me from
grilling stuff sometimes but I have other ways to cook things. I'm not
a die-hard griller.

Rain? I sleep very well if there's a good thunderstorm. Heck, I slept
through Hurricane Matthew. LOL I have a sound machine that is set to
the sound of rain with occasional thunder. (The real thing is so much
better!) When the power went out at 3:30AM that morning I was able to
go right back to sleep to the sound of the wind and rain.

He's deflecting from my question. What do I have to be jealous about?

Again, jealous of WHAT? Your little make each other feel good clique?

As a long-term participant on RFC I feel I should mention: TINC.

Geese will detect a stranger (human or animal) quicker than a dog
does, some ducks are even better again. My geese aren't very
aggressive, but they sure are noisy.

Ours get around a lot, they're great for keeping snakes off the

Ted Nugent used to have a reality show where a group of
city people would come to learn to survive without grocery
stores, etc. It was amusing.

In one show, after several days, they were all starving and
he showed up and said, "Good news! You all get to have a
chicken dinner tonight."

They all brightened up and were happy until his friend
unloaded a couple of crates of live chickens and left it
to them to make dinner. ha hah aha

Some were horrified and then one Joan-like woman said, "The
hell with them. I'm eating em tonight." And she killed them.

Only one woman refused to eat the "poor chickens" even after
they were cooked.

Hmmmm...what would Bruce do?

One summer, we had a woodpecker that would fly onto my roof
right above my bedroom and "machine gun" the metal flashing
for an hour or so with his beak. I often went out and
threw a stick up at him to chase him off.

It's strange how Trump's undistinguished time at Wharton has not been
the subject of tell-all leaks by former classmates. What's your problem,

My neighbour by the sea was a radio buff and had a big aerial on his
roof. The male woodpeckers all used it, it would seem,so an
ornithologist told me, that the loudest woodpecker drummer is seen to
be the best mate by the females So it isn't that he doesn't
understand he can't drill a hole in the metal.

I love it when (in any newsgroup) people say, I've been here
longer than you or I'm a long term participant. They seem to
think that they are the chosen special ones. LOL

SF said that to me once. "I've been here longer than you and
I'll still be here when you leave." So much for that claim.

Whatever she's up to, I wish her the best but I don't miss her
arrogance.

Friggin geese. I was at a lake once with many geese. At one
point, some upset goose ran right towards me honking it's
beak off with with wings wide open. Attack mode.

Didn't scare me as they have no teeth. Soon as it got about
2-3 feet away, I gave it a quick kick to the chest and
knocked it sideways.

Goose immediately turned around and ran away with wings
over butt, still honking it's beak off.

Nothing about jealousy.

You said, "I already live on a lushly green sub-tropical island."

I merely pointed out that you don't take advantage of it.
You constantly complain about it.
You stay indoors (or your backyard) all the time.
If that's all you do, who cares about a lushy green sub-tropical
island?

You could live in the Arizona desert indoors with a large pic
of a lushly green backyard to look at. You can eat the same
grocery
seafood out there too.

Nothing wrong with being a homebody but those people shouldn't
care where they live. Why would it matter?

I'm puzzled by what you say, I honestly don't remember Jill
complaining about her weather and housing. I do remember her sharing
bird stories, flower pictures, that kind of thing. Not what I would
call complaining.

Arrogant or not, she was not an RFC vulture.
