I washed sheets and hung them out, clean the cat's litter box, and gave
her a dose of medication for a bladder problem. Before that, I washed
the supper dishes.

Looks very good! I know you add other things but you do
seem to have a very limited veggie diet menu.

You might want to consider taking a multivitamin each day.
I eat fairly well but I alway take 1/2 each day just in
case I'm missing a little something in my diet.

Just something to consider.

I eat lots of other stuff too!

And here's the recipe for Garlic Potatoes:

It's a recipe from a local restaurant that I got in a newsletter years ago. I'll give you my slightly modified version:

5 lbs potatoes

4 cups 40% cream

1-1.5 heads of fresh garlic (not the stuff in jars!)

1 tsp salt

1 tsp white pepper (black pepper works too, but makes black specks in the sauce!)

Gruyere swiss cheese

Peel (optional I suppose) and slice up the potatoes into chunk slices about 1/4 inch thick. Peel and mince the garlic, and I pare that little green plant out of the middle of each clove (A PITA, but it's kinda fun too!)

In a large pot, put the potato pieces, the cream, the garlic and the salt and pepper and bring to a gentle boil for about 10-15 mins. Thin with a little milk to make it easy to stir.

Then pour into a shallow baking pan like a lasagna pan, and grate Gruyere cheese on top. Bake at 350F for 40 mins or into until the Gruyere gets light golden brown.

Let sit for 30 mins after baking, and enjoy!

And they are DELISH!! Used to be served at Riddle's Penultimate on Delmar in STL. Their chef in the early 1990's was Andy Ayres and I hAve an early '90's newsletter from Riddle's with the recipe in it. I used to make them for our family's Thanksgiving dinners.

Running around the track at a nearby school is even better.

You posted what you did Monday as if we were all on the edge of our
seats awaiting your announcement, so I posted what I did. Cruel as
it might be, n.o.b.o.d.y. gives a big rats ass what either of us did
yesterday. There, I've broken your heart proclaiming the truth that
nobody cares what we do.

Don't know what that has to do with the above but I will
disagree with you. I used to run around the track at the
local school for timed speed work. Only thing more boring
is running on a treadmill at home.

All of your posts could be considered non-sequiter, Kuthe. No one gives
a shit if you made garlic potatoes *again* (learn to cook something new
for a change) or mowed the lawn or about your friggin' musical choices.

His "VSTD" is B O R I N G. I can't imagine eating the same thing day
in, day out. There are so many other "vegetarian" choices.

When potatoes and other vegetables are boiled a good part of their
vitamins and minerals go down the drain with the cooking water. Smart
cooks save that water for soups and baking, can be frozen for later
use.
My doctor sends me for a blood work up each year, partly to determine
what vitamins to recommend, he's not into the multi/one-a-day kind,
can be taking too much of something you don't need that can cause
harm.

A few miles on a real bicycle is better, no shock to your joints...
running is not beneficial to older folks, walking is better.

Why did you crop the rest of my post? You always complain

That's why I walk fast on the treadmill, instead of running. It's also
less tiring

There is a dead groundhog in a tunnel next to my foundation.
It had a very nice final meal--watermelon and grapes.

I'll bet it was not the ONLY time you peed last night!

How OLD are you Sheldon. I'm 60, only 6 years out of SocSec Retirement when by my last SocSec doc says I should receive $1600+ a month! :-)

Do you realize that you post the same, personal, crap over and over or
are you oblivious to that fact?

I trimmed it because I didn't need to repeat your suggestion of a
multi-vitamin to make the point about "very limited veggie diet menu".

I do believe he *should* take vitamins but I doubt he'd listen. No
point my chiming in because (shhhh) he's a NURSE! He knows all about
what is good for him. If he wants to respond to your post directly he will.

Absolutely nothing. She's taking a nap.

How narcissistic of you (once again) John. Sheldon has been posting to
RFC since the early days of Usenet. Not via Google Groups.

Question: How many years have you been reading/posting here that you
don't know how old Sheldon is?

Answer: The number of years don't really matter. The real answer is
because you never paid a lick of attention to posts wishing him a happy
birthday over the years. If you had, you'd know how old he is.

You don't know because the only thing you care about is yourself. We
all know you're 60. I, for one, don't give a shit.

A doctor once said that if you have a good diet, all multi-vitamin
pills do is create expensive pee.

I also once read there's a correlation between intake of vitamin E
pills and increased death rate. Of course, it could just be that
people who are unhealthy take more Vitamin E pills.

So not only do we have to mow our lawns in time and make sure we don't
have clover or dandelions, we're also judged by how often we wish
people a happy birthday.

I wish everybody a happy birthday, whether in the past, the current or
the future!

I dunno about that. I a *not* a vegetarian but if you accept eggs, milk
and milk products, I have not had 'meat' (including seafood) for 3 days.

Some chicken thighs defrosted for tomorrow.

Things used:

Cauliflower
3 versions of cabbage
Summer squash
Mustard greens
broccoli, 2 versions
onions
Cucumbers
Potatoes, 2 versions
peanuts
acorn squash
butternut squash
garlic
rice
spelt bread
cashews
Kholrabi
oranges
grapes (purple)
Kiwi
Apples
Blueberries
Strawberries
Fresh bread

I think it is likely John eats morr variety than the posts.

Then you've eaten like a vegetarian for 3 days.

Damn, you were doing so well!

Well, the Frontline (for cats and ferrets) didn't do anything.
And I tried the flea sprays (on carpet), flea powders on
carpet...sprinkle on then gently spread it with a broom. Then
vacuum it up. Tried the borax powder the same way.

What did work well (temporarily) was to give them a
shampoo every 2 weeks. Flea shampoo not necessary, I used
regular shampoo.

Fill a gallon pitcher with soapy warm water. Rub some
straight shampoo around their necks then immerse them
in the water right up to the neck. All the fleas below
the neckline drowned then I had to use tweezers to look
for and pick them off their heads.

At the very end of shampoo, dunk them underwater in a
5-gallon bucket to rinse.

They loved the warm baths and didn't mind. But then
they would collect more from the carpet.

Little bit at a time, it worked but it took a long time.

The entire flea problem was me. My ferrets never went outside.
Fleas outside would jump on me (they're attracted to body heat).
They never bit me but once inside they would jump off and
into the carpet then would jump on ferrets as they ran by.

You're actually right, Sheldar. I was the one bringing them
into the house. A flea collar on both shins might have helped.
