Dodged a bullet AGAIN
This time the mini-fridge in the main pantry quit. An Avanti, bought in mid-2018. Fortunately it was pretty empty and what *was* in there could certainly tolerate some time at warmer temperatures, e.g. soy sauce, a cauliflower. Had to toss some lettuce, though.
Anyway, I dragged it off the shelving (it's nice having a mini-fridge at eye level!) and proceeded to diagnose the problem. It turned out to be nothing more complicated than a connector which had come ever-so-slightly loose from the side of the compressor. Washed the shelves and interior while it was warm. Back in business after less than an hour's worth of dicking around (to use the technical term). :-) Whew (again). -- Silvar Beitel |

I've got a mini Danby brand that I've had about 10 years. The model I chose doesn't have a freezer compartment; no need to give up needed 'fridge space for a tiny, not needed freezer. This one is used to keep colas and extra juice chilled; very hand to have and was not at all expensive. Also, mine is at eye level as well. |
