Already handled, but thanks.

I've got three in the freezer and one in the fridge.

We roast a turkey every couple of months. They can be difficult to obtain
between Easter and Thanksgiving. Hence, backups.

Unless I can persuade my husband to let me get rid of some of the venison
that's too gamy even for him, three is about all I can accumulate.

Just unwrapped the ten - pound Butterball frozen and pre - roasted toikey, it had been in the fridge for the week. Broke it down, and it is ready to go, it is a perfect size for one person...already cooked, so easy - peasey...

Next week I will order a smoked turkey breast, that should serve all of my turkey needs for the season. I have a six - pound bone - in Amana Iowa ham in the freezer, may buy more ham. This is the smoked turkey breast:

Eyeing this ham "filet":

Is the venison cut in pieces, sausage, or...and your hubby shot the door that provided the venison ISTR, yes...???

Could you do a venison burger...

And I like a turkey in warmer weather, out of holiday season, hence they can be tough to get...

The deer is nice enough to provide venison, and what do you do? You shoot it.
That seems very ungrateful.

Thanksgiving is a lie. There were no native americans and pilgrims
that shared a meal. It is all BS because the USA wanted to be like
other countries that celebrated that particular event. Now it is just
all marketing and sales, profits and margins. The one and only good
thing to do with thanks giving is the day after, black friday. Yet
that is all done for christmas which is a day that is also bullshit
because there was not ever a Harry Potter that lived on this earth.

Probably a great price for this time of year... I paid 39¢/lb with a
$25 store purchase, very easy to spend $25 on groceries. Also Cindy
must like turkey... not my fav or I'd have bought more than the one 13
pounder I was hoping to find one smaller but that was the smallest.
It's good we have all the cats to help eat it. We don't care for
turkey stock either, the carcass goes out for the critters... we like
chicken much more. I don't roast chicken often anymore, we can buy
rotisserie chickens at BJs, good size for $4.99... in fact we just
finished one over 3 days. BJs gives what was likely a 5-6 pound
roaster and wonderfully seasoned and not salty. This time I used the
carcass to make a good Chinese style soup with white pepper, ginger, a
sweet onion, celery, carrot, soy sauce, MSG, 'shrooms, and wide egg
noodles... I don't mind eating around all the bones... my wife won't,
I baked her a 1/2 dozen jumbo corn muffins, and she had a salad.
Dinner tonight will be 12 oz burgers, home ground, no schtinkin
mystery meat here. 12 ounce burgers are not a lot as it also feeds
the cats.

Yoose could make saw-seege Popeye! The spices and herbs would cover
yoose gamey taste.

I only now really notice "Sheldon Martin". Does that mean your name
used to be Pussy Katz and you changed it to Sheldon Martin? I
understand you didn't like "Pussy", but why not "Sheldon Katz?

One my nephews is doing the turkeys. One will be smoked and not sure
how the other one will be prepared. But I'm taking a damn ham as my
contribution to the feast and festivities.

I know a couple guys who hunt deer and talk about how good the meat is.
They turn most of it into pepperoni. I have tried venison and was not
impressed. Moose is better, but I would liken it to cheap beef.

Most actual *** men are fine. They're not like those guys in the Navy who
forcibly ****ed you in the mouth. Most of them probably weren't even ***,
but there weren't any women, and so they had to make do with a guy named
Sheldon, who did what was considered back then to be women's work. Did
they call you Shelly?

These things take time. As an advanced culture, we have pretty much
forgotten the religious origins of Hallowe'en. And for youngsters, Easter
has almost been completely converted into a secular scheduled exercise in
conspicuous consumption.

Christmas will just take a bit longer. Have faith.

Even though I don't believe in the supernatural, *A Christmas Carol* is one of
my favorite stories. You know, I could...

Pieces. His buddy shot the deer on her property and he sent it out for processing.

> Could you do a venison burger...

He doesn't really even like it in chili, let alone in a burger where it's flavor
would be completely unmasked.

I used to defrost my 20 lb+ turkeys the night before in a salt water brine. It's like killing two turkeys with one stone.
