Just looking about, setup Thunderbird but do not see where to block some
users.

Killfilters are so 25 years ago, back when bandwidth was a consideration. Now,
you can just choose to not open posts from any users you choose.

And you could always either use a killfile or not. Those who choose to killfile just have little self control.

I plan to ban aioe.org. I don't have much else filtered out. Right
now, just matching up stuff in TB.

OK, I get that, since an imposter is posting under your name, but that
won't stop others from replying.

Aren't there decent people who use aioe? There are in other
newsgroups.

At least I won't see them anymore and that's good enough. We had a bunch
of people responding to him last week, including I think John Kuthe.

Basically I don't want to waste my fime filtering them out and hey,
playing with a new software appeals to me. I still have xananews running
in tandem.

You can open up the Tools menu and go down to message Filters. You can
also left or right click on the From header in an email and it gives
you a number of options including creating a filter from it. It is good
for one's sanity to keep some people filtered. The nymshfting assholes
aren't worth filtering. They know that they are obnoxious assholes and
pride themselves. You can filter them when you read them and an hour
later they will be back with another name, so it is easier to just
ignore them.

Thunderbird has an awesome set of boolean filters. I used to use it a lot for filtering email. I never used it on news groups but it'll filter out aioe.org with no problem.

One of the froggers said he was going to stop frogging and now posts
as Doppelganger, so maybe your problem is solved.

Sometimes it gets to the point where you have to filter some users
because so many of their posts are just needling people you may already
have filtered. I have a few in mine because they are only here to
hassle Kuthe. That is how Ofeelme got to be one of the first to go in
my filter. I had filtered Peter Lucas because he was exceptionally
offensive and profane. Then she would reply to every single post form
Lucas, quote the entire post, sometimes more than 100 lines of text, and
then add a clueless comment at the end saying that his post was
offensive. When I told her I would filter her if she kept doing that I
would filter her too. Then she whined that I can't tell who can reply
to. She was right. She can post to whoever she wants, but she ended up
in the filter with her Lucas.

Don't lie. I often see you talk to people who spend most of their time
here hassling Kuthe.

Or complian about. I'm not singling anyone out, but most of the posts here
fall into the complaining and insulting categories. Constructive criticism is the
exception, not the norm. I'm trying to temper my posts, and not initiate conflicts,
which isn't that hard, but I'm also trying to temper my responses unless directly
attacked. Do you think that anyone will think, *Hmmm? If even Bryan, who is
one of the meanest, most vicious persons I've ever encountered can do it, maybe
I can too?* Some of you can. Some of us can, but choose not to because they
prefer conflict. Some of us are incapable of doing so because they are
emotional weaklings, or are caught in repetetive loops, like autistic children who
rock back and forth, utttering the same words and phrases over and over, *ad
nauseum*.

If everyone who read the above paragraph thought about themselves in that
context, and asked themselves the question, "Am I acting like a grownup?,"
things might get marginally better, but I'm not holding my breath.

Actually Peter Lucas was a real person and quite nice. He had someone
playing the same game as pud stain. He's long gone now of the stomach
cancer I am sure.

We exchanged a Christmas box from OZ to Virginia Beach. Just neat local
stuff we thought the other would like. Amazon wasn't the monster it is
now so he was curious about file powder for gumbos and Welches grape
jelly. I've loved Tea Tree oil ever since he sent some and the 3 little
pins of odd creatures there are still used about once a week on a lapel
jacket. He in turn had a field day with all the odd little local dry
rubs that aren't at all like the ones in OZ. Part of the gift was we
both wrapped everything in local grocery store ads.

"Even Bryan": you really think you're special. You're very proud of
how mean and vicious you are. You probably think that's edgy or
something. It's not. Anybody can be mean and vicious. Most people
choose not to be.

If you can track how to do that and let me know I would appreciate it.
I think I have regular filters that don't need a domain name figured out
now. I suspect Xananews has it too but decided to play with TB for a bit.

Tomorrow I will see if it colorizes nicely too as that can be helpful to
spot quickly messages to me.

I quit buying wrapping paper decades ago, and instead used grocery
store ads.

I don't remember there being anything but bile and idiocy from him.
Never the less, it was more about the way the Scottish nitwit was
compusliely responding to all of those offense posts, quoting the entire
text only to add the same sort of stupid comment about it being offensive.

Click on the message to open it in the preview pane . Click "message"
in the toolbar . Select create filter from message and follow
instructions . You can also click on "tools" then "message filters" to
manually create a filter . This route gives you more options .

Use Agent and you don't need to block, I see headers and posters and
simply glide past any I know I won't want to read. It is easy to
block in Agent though, Control/k and choose what you want to happen.

Says the guy using Google Groups who doesn't have the option of
filtering posts.

It about a lot more than bandwidth and your contrary opinions don't
matter to anyone else.

Yeah - Google Groups. Most of us have filtered aioe and other troll
havens, using our antiquidated filters options (so says you).

So, you're going to start skipping all posts from cshenk1? The problem
Carol (and I) have is forged posts under our names. How do you know
which ones to skip?

This past week alone I've seen a number of people reply to posts (all
from the aioe domain, BTW) claiming to be from her but they aren't. I'm
not going to stop reading all posts from 'cshenk1' simply because a few
of them are forgeries.
