Default The runt of the litter

Yesterday I bought a whole chicken at ALDI that was 2.93 pounds. Don't see that too often. That's the perfect size. I stuffed it with French bread, onions, sage, a tiny bit of celery salt, and because I didn't have any canned broth, I used some broth from a can of chicken noodle soup. I'll have the soup for breakfast tomorrow.

The cheap (on sale) whole chickens or chicken parts have no ammonia
sores. You get to see what you're buying. The skins have no sores or cut
off parts.

Mistreated? Maybe but not necessarily.

You should think beyond what PITA tells you.

Not necessarily?

PETA doesn't tell me anything. I rarely hear from them or about them.
But I've seen the inside of chicken factories on the Dutch public
channel and on a (British) Hugh Fearnly-Whittingstall program. He came
out crying.

How can you not have an inkling about how factory chickens live? Is
that kind of information kept away from Americans so you can fool
yourself into thinking it's all very humane?
