In the supermarket yesterday, I noticed the peppers
in the fresh produce section were green, yellow, and orange . However, in the spice shelf, I found black pepper only. What gives? Is this another manifestation of our racist country? Like, if youre a pepper of color, you need to be incarcerated, you cant be trusted to mingle in civil society? €” Rich |

Pink pepper is definitely on my 'peppercorn' mix list, but I do roll them between my fingers to get rid of the pink outer membrane to prevent them from clogging my mill. Yeah yeah, I wash my hands first due to Covid etc. and I warn people with allergies because the plant is closely-related to several plants with poisonous components. ( pistachio, cashew, poison ivy, poison sumac, poison oak, mango ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anacardiaceae BTW, green pepper is unripe black pepper, and white pepper is fermented black pepper. |

Maybe it's like that coffee we get when we feed elephants raw coffee beans and then pick through the dung heap. I never tried that, just because it's >$K / Kg. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_pepper https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Ivory_Coffee |

It's the finest grocery store in the universe. I wish they still gave S&H green stamps. I never saved up enough to buy that manura, nor the ouiji board. I did get a nifty beany cap that I wear to the Sinagog on sundays. But it doesn't have a propeller like our rabbi's sacred beany. My granny finally forbade me to go there ever again, as they are not baptist jews, therefore sinful. I'm going to check with the Pope! |
