Isn't that extraordinary? More people should consider working. Truly,

Tried it. After 54 years I decided I really don't like it and have not
worked since. I like the way it is now, should have quit 53 years ago.

I'll be there in six years, buddy! I can hardly wait! I'm still gonna RIP an HOUR on Da 'Track if I can to! My Father took up bicycling in his latter years and rode in the RAGBRAI rides across Iowa and other long distance rides called Camp Rides for as long as he could until his HF took him off his bicycles. He passed Jan 2017 at 99!

My longest bike ride was 65 miles (had an odometer on the front wheel).
That's the day I quit smoking so I had to keep myself busy. Then I took
up running.

Your Dad lived to age 99? Very cool. Can't ask for more than that.

i'm getting there a day at a time. i'm on year 11 of
complete freedom, but i got away 25 years ago the first time
and then eventually did some part-time and a few months of
working two jobs (a full-time and a part-time) until i
decided i really didn't like the full time job enough to
stay (not a great place to work or i'd likely still be
there). the part-time job i stuck with over eight years
(librarian) and still miss that, but the new manager sucked
and it wasn't worth the headaches it caused for me in the
end. still miss the patrons and the books, but not the
manager. some day i may go back to work again, but i am
not predicting what or when. gardening is my work here
now and i don't really consider it work at all.

I'd bet a quarter that his "W-2" was a 1099 or some other document showing
investment income.

He did nothing in 2020 besides paint the interior of his house and blow the
rest of his inheritance on his roof.

What success? Inquiring minds want to know. He did not work a single in
2020 to receive a W-2. Like already stated, it was mostly likely a 1099-R; I
got two today.
