We had baby clams in white wine sauce over thin spaghetti . Easy to
make and very tasty .

I pounded out a chicken breast, gave it a rub with a bunch of herbs and
spice.... chili powder, haberno powder, garlic powder and oregano and
grilled it. While it was cooking I boiled some water to cook some
spaghettini, chopped up some red pepper, snow peas, asparagus, and
garlic. I sauteed them in a bit of olive oil and when they were done I
added the spaghettini and a bit of the pasta water. I stirred it around
for a minute or so until the water was sucked up or evaporated. I served
it up on plates with the sliced grilled chicken. It was delicious.

Fried apples? Sliced and pan fried? Is that a thing? I always wondered
what one could do with apples that's not sweet and apart from eating
them raw.

Fried in butter. I put a star anise in the pan and at the end I put a
glug of grappa and reduced it. Sugar and cinnamon are optional but you
really have to be careful so they are not overly sweet unless you want
it as a dessert.

leftover mashed potatoes warmed in the microwave, covered with beef
gravy in which I dropped beef slices to take off the chill and frozen
peas. It was delicious and quick

Apples by themselves are sweet, some types sweeter than others.
When fried the sugar caramelizes. When cooked apples become sweeter
as the water evaporates, as in apple sauce. Most jams and jellies are
about half apples for the sugar and pectin.

It's certainly more humane to kill them first.
I've personally killed many shellfish...clams, oysters and crabs.

Bivalves clams/oysters die instantly when they are opened/shucked.

I bought some live abalone once. I didn't have the heart to kill them. Luckily, they eventually died of natural causes. By that time, I lost my appetite for them and threw them away.

In the future, we'll all be vegetarian, most folks don't realize that yet. If you want to eat real meat, you'll have to go kill some on your own. I suppose you could probably hire your own private killer/butcher and have him do it for you. My guess is that it could be a pretty good trade - in the future.

I don't know about quickly with them. My live crabs do die quickly. A
very violent but 2 second death. Steaming live crabs is evil.

My brother-in-laws would go diving for abalone in Half Moon Bay, California.. They would get some big ones there. The interesting part about that is there's great white sharks in those waters. You could get attacked and eaten. Things are a little more even in nature's balance sheet over there. Those abalone must taste pretty good!

My brother-in-laws would go diving for abalone in Half Moon Bay, California.
They would get some big ones there. The interesting part about that is
there's great white sharks in those waters. You could get attacked and
eaten. Things are a little more even in nature's balance sheet over there.
Those abalone must taste pretty good!
