Hasbro to Remove "Mr. Title from Famous Potato Head Toy

By BRITTANY BERNSTEIN February 25, 2021 2:14 PM

"The toymaker Hasbro announced Thursday it will drop the honorific on its Mr. Potato Head toy in favor of a gender-neutral Potato Head moniker.

According to the Associated Press, the plastic potato-shaped toy has been around for nearly 70 years, but needed a modern makeover, the company said.

The name change, which will appear on boxes this year, makes the spud the latest toy to undergo changes to conform to diversity and inclusion efforts. Others include the Thomas the Tank Engine line, which now features more female characters, and American Girl, which has begun selling a boy doll..."

I'm planning a gender reveal party for "Potato Head".

Well, these days we've got a lot of "genders" to choose from...

Mr. and Mrs. Potato is okay but nowadays "Head" has a whole different
meaning.

Our society has gone all to hell with all this politically correct and
touchy-feely nonsense. Very sad.

We're going to leave our children and grand children one hell of a mess
to try to fix. LOL

This sort of thing is simply stupid. There was Mr. Potato Head. There
was Mrs. Potato Head. As a young kid I even had a Mr. Potato Head box
which included a carrot head and a green bell pepper head. Not kidding!

You put eyes and ears and lips and arms and legs (choice of shoes!) and
stuff on them to create fun characters. It's a toy, fer cryin out loud.
It's not about gender issues. I could have put red lips and high
heels on Mr. Potato Head and no one would have cared. We were kids.
The point is playing. My 2 cents.

If only one could tell the difference in a potato without the added red
lips and the purse dangling off one potato woman's arm. I personally
have no way to tell the gender of an actual Idaho baking potato unless
it has lips.

It's where most people store their brain. What do you do with it?

They will be raised in and used to it. Soon, everybody will be talking
like mealy-mouthed politicians, especially in public.

LMAO but I was going to suggest that in this age of politically correct
horse shit that Mr. Potato head is going to be gender neutral so he
would not offend any one. Of course I had to google it. Son of a gun.
It just happened. Now it is just Potato Head and you can dress him up
any way you want. Even Barbie has gone diverse. I guess that explains
the Pregnant Barbie.
