We got a loan from Wells Fargo. It was more hassle than any ten
loans I've ever gotten put together. Was this supposed to mollify
me? What am I supposed to put in it? Pocket change?

It seems like neither. It's got a lid, so it's not a piggy
bank.

My immediate thought was it's something made from fondant!

My second thought was if that had been a cast-iron painted replica of an
old Wells Fargo wagon, like the toy ones that show up occasionally on
Antiques Roadshow, in 25 years it might actually be worth something.

You might be cringing but the audiences back then just ate that corny shit up. That's the nature of musicals - they start looking hokey pretty fast.

Musicals are for people with no taste. They're hokey pokey from the
moment of inception.

You gotta get another loan for the horses and work nights and
weekends as the coachman.

It's better than those radios they used to give away. They look
like 2 foot long stereo ghetto blasters with tweeters and detachable
speakers in the literature getting you to sign up for something, but
it's really only 5" wide,, has shitty little 1" speakers, and the
tuning knob is all the frequencies in the FM spectrum packed into 1
linear inch so it's impossible to tune anything in.

And I found it! And this ****er wants $20 for it but he doesn't say
it's only 5" wide.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-FM-Por...-/152225316498

I got it free with my Monkey Wards/QVC credit card back in 1993.

There is/were beads called jet and they were black. I'm not certain but they
were used a lot in Victorian times especially for mourning jewelry.

If things keep going as they have been we'll be terminating our
relationship with Smells Fartgo in September when we pay off the
mortgage on our Memphis house . All of our deposit accounts are with a
regional bank and that house note is our last contract debt .

Jet is a semi-precious stone used in jewelry making:

Wells Fargo handled the $30,000 my Goldfarb School of Nursing cost me.

I paid it off with a completely unexpected inheritance my Aunt Mil left me, and bought my 2013 Nissan Leaf too! :-)

Only problem is...most likely Wells Fargo will buy out your regional
bank in a few years then you'll be right back with Wells Fargo. They did
to me years ago.

I have no problem with them though. At least they don't make mistakes
like Bank of America (whatever they call themselves now) did with me.

Unlike some, I do pay attention to my monthly statements. Twice, I
caught them charging me twice for one check. Same time, they claimed I
never paid for my safe deposit box. I had to go into the bank to prove
their mistakes all 3 times.

When I moved to CT in 1981 I opened an account at a local bank. In the
next 15 or so years I had accounts at 4 different banks as each one was
sucked up and the sticker on the ATM changed. Finally moved to another
bank and still have that account in CT but that bank is changing too.

Opened an account at a local FL bank and three months later found they
are merging too.

His oldest son was Jett who had an illness and died in an accident when
he hit his head.
