One of my favorite music CDs is "The Bagpipes and Drums of Scotland" I just put it on now while I write this. Anytime there is a parade at the beach, I'll ride bike down there to where the parade starts. The group of about 20 bagpipe players usually start the parade. Once they start marching, I'll walk along the sidewalk next to them until the end of parade so I hear it all. Once they finish, I'll often ride home. The rest of the parade is usually boring to me. heheh |

Although I did tip one of the other drivers, who picked up my empty propane tank one week, exchanged it for a full one the next week, and hooked it back up for me. He did that on his own time, though. He and his brother also cut down some overgrown trees which had been planted years ago as a windbreak - no longer needed, as the shrubbery they were meant to protect is now mature. They told us how much they wanted, my husband rounded it up to a nicer number, and we had a pleasant chat when they were done, accompanied by tea and cakes. |

These alliances were supposed to strengthen the ties between the Europeans but they seemed to be pretty ineffective. The Americans were better at maintaining peace within their continent. Sheldon, if you got a gas stove where the oven can't be lit with a match from inside, then that's on you for a poor choice of gas stoves. |

Most all use a hot surface igniter, not a spark like the burners. I know you cannot light a Hotpoint, Frigidaire, GE, Maytag and others. Don't take my word, Google it What About Lighting a Gas Oven During a Power Outage? While it is possible to light a cooktop during an outage, you're unfortunately out of luck when it comes to lighting the oven itself. Most of today's models require electricity to operate and cannot be manually ignited, so your baking will just have to wait until the power comes back.. |

All the new gas ranges are now coming with electronic ignition for the top burners and the oven comes with a glow bar. The glow bar only works if there is electricity to power that solenoid that opens the gas valve and lights the gas. > > My oven unit can be lit from inside with a match and obviously the top > stove can be. > You have an older model gas range. They can still be bought but are not that readily available when you buy a new stove. Plus the new models have many bells and whistles to entertain you while you cook. |
