Turn on the dishwasher and it just goes "Hmmmmmmm....".

Hmmmmm, I think it's ****ed.

Lets all wish it a Happy Birthday, and a Happy Death Day.

And she was clean when she croaked. The last [empty] load I did was
one of the Lemi-Shine packets to clean the dishwasher. But like the
toilet last year, those essential vitamins and minerals buildup were
apparently what was holding her together.

Stouffer's Meat Lovers Lasagna was served at the wake. They dumbed
it down and now it's "Mild" rather than "Medium" spicy. Gary must
have complained.

A good time was had by all. We shared remembrances of loads gone
awry. Such as this time when it was 2:AM and I forgot close the
rotating detergent cup before starting. The pre-wash cycle had 3X
as much soap as it should have.

Mine "growls", which started just after the warranty expired. Despite
that it still washes perfectly after 22 years.

Only $275 to replace the pump and motor! What a steal! That's only
$6 more than the original price of the dishwasher.

That's a lot of money to end up with a clunker used machine.

I replaced my broken one with a pricey one, but if we convert this
house to a rental, I won't have to worry about replacing it when we're
1000+ miles away. The new one gets the dishes nice and clean every
time.

Your greasy 15 ingredient pizzas and lasagnas probably overloaded

Our house came with GE appliances. We did upgrade models but the model
we have is $900. Last one I bought was a KitchenAid for about $1100.

Given the choice, the KA I found to be a tad easier to load but both do
an excellent job of cleaning dishes. You will also note the cycle times
are longer on new ones for energy efficiency. Most times I start it
either right after breakfast or well after dinner and it does not get
emptied til morning.

Accounting for inflation, $269 1988 US dollars would be worth close to
$600 today. That Best Buy $2,300 price tag you mention in another post
would have corresponded to a bit more than $1,000 in 1988. What would
a thousand have been able to buy in 1988 I wonder?

My house came with a Gas Meter too, but I had that ****er removed after I got all electric everything and was still being charged a $20 Connection Fee!

**** Fossil Fuels! And $20 Connection Fees to use them!

When we converted from propane to natural gas, we changed out our
electric water heater and electric stove for gas appliances.

Your dishwasher BURNS Natural GAS, whereas John PRODUCES more natural
gas than he consumes, and it is SUSTAINABLY MADE from his VSTD beans!!

Some folks might think that spending $1000 on a dishwasher when
we'll only be here 5 more years is foolish, but I hate the whole
disposable everything paradigm. If I'd have bought a Speed Queen
washer when we first bought this house, I wouldn't be on my third
clothes washer.

Apparently Gary thought you were. I saw him mention it in... was it the
tri-tip reuben thread or elsewhere in this one? LOL He pretty much
called you stupid and thought you were going to by that one and pay that
price. I got it.

That's because you are stupid. Gas appliances are cheaper to run than all
electric. But yet you are Rich! Rich!! Rich!!! so it doesn't matter.

I've always had gas heat and a gas water heater here. About 10 years ago
I converted from an electric flat top stove to a gas range. Love the quick
response and instant temperature adjustment of gas over an electric range.
I really appreciated that gas range March 2020 when the tornado tore through
Nashville. At least fresh vegetables and canned goods could be cooked; that
would have been impossible with an electric stove since there was no electricity
for 5 days.

What John did was get rid of a really nice way of cooking. A gas stove.
Not that he actually cooks anything other than that VSTD palaver, but
still. He ripped out a perfectly good gas stove, had the pipe capped
off and the meter turned off. He converted everything to electric.
He's talking about being charged for the Gas Meter connection. I don't
think he understands he's now being charged for the Electric Meter
connection.

I wonder if he ever looks at his electric bill? Electricity isn't free.
And gee, it comes from Fossil Fuels. He's an amazing hypocrite.
