My two older brothers never got along. One leased a car for work and
made sure the other one knew that he got to write it off. Of course he
only got to write off a portion of that and just didn't have to pay
income tax on that amount, but the other one was under the impression
that the benefit was way more than he though. He did it just to ****
him off. You gotta love the way siblings can be.

Many years ago, there was a nearby store that sold retreads. Less than
half the price of new tires and they were just as good. The process is
the same and if done properly....just as good as new.

I once had a tour of a retreading facility. It was interesting. They
swore that their retreads were just as good as new tires. They had a bad
name at the time, but he said the problems they had seen were from low
tire pressure.

Retreads are passable used on a low speed dump truck, don't take them
over 40 MPH. I see lots of those retread caps on the roadside.

Interstates are littered with them. But Gary never drives anywhere to see
them scattered about.

Obviously Gary buys $10 retreads for his painting van.

How do you know if they are retreads if you see only the caps? As I
mentioned the other day, when I was on a road crew in 1978 we picked up
more blown out Michelin tires than all others combined.

More than half will be inside up, easy to see it was vulcanized.

WTF knows what you picked up in 1978?

Do you think that's believable, practically nothing you claim is
believeable, blown retreads will only show the tread part on the
roadway, easy to see it was vulcanized, the portion with the sidewall
and tire name will still be on the vehical's wheel or totally
destroyed... and most retread places grind off any tire ID because
they don't want to get sued by tire manufacturers for using their name
on a shoddy product without permission. Today it's near impossible to
register a vehical with retreads, they are not legally permited on
interstates... sure but many truckers don't obey vehicular code. It's
usually the inner tire on a tandem trailer that's the retread, not
easy to spot. The driver will head for a tire shop for another
retread.
When we bought our first house on Long Island my father helped us
move, he used his old Duggan's baked goods delivery van. We got from
Brooklyn to the east end of Long Island just fine, but halway back
with no load a rear tire blew. It was a Sunday and the tire shop in
Brooklyn was closed. So we hobbled back to Brooklyn at no more than
15 mph and laid low until early Monday morning when the tire shop
opened and they could put on a new old retread. My father had worked
for Duggan Brothers for 27 years at that time and he told me that all
their trucks used retreads... they delivered light loads (bread &
cake) to the homes on city streets, all slow driving. But that day we
were on the expressway.

My brother-in-laws had retreads on a truck they had. They were moving to a new house and pulling a U-Haul when a tire failed. They had a hitchhiker riding with them who claimed to be a songwriter. He wrote a song about it. That was nice of him. Along the way, one of their trucks would break down. Near as I can tell, a trip with those guys is always an adventure. It's the reason I don't ever want to take long trips with my brother-in-laws.

"The wildest cat from Montana passes by in a flash
Then a lady in a bright orange dress
One U-Haul trailer, a truck with no wheels"

17" wheels are common and the tires are cheap.Â* What size do you have -
it's on the receipt?Â* Try pricing some low profile 21" runflats.Â* I
dread it every time it comes up.

Not their Pilots.Â* They are OEM on my car but I went with Pirelli Zeros
for 2/3'rds the price and a much longer tread wear.

Oh NO it's not! My Leaf would out-torque your ICE engine any dry day! 0-1000ft! And I'd bet MONEY on it to!

Now that I think about it, my Hyundai Sonata came with Michelin Pilots. They were V rated tires which I thought was kind of strange (and expensive) for a family sedan.

depends on the model. My Genesis is governed at 145 and has V rated
also. I never went over 120 though.

I'd love to take you up on that. Because you'd lose that money, 100%.
Instead of being a ****ing moron forever, why not google some facts
before opening your stupid mouth?

Nissan Leaf/Acceleration 0-100 km/h: 7.9 seconds
ROTFL!

Even a boring old Toyota Camry kicks your stupid Leaf's ass, LOL:

How fast does a Toyota Camry go from 0 to 60?
5.8 sec
In 2017, we tested a Camry XSE with the V-6, and it logged a
5.8-second 0-60 run.

I was told once that the process is the same for new tires and retreads.
I only bought retreads for a few years in the 1970's and they never
separated, just wore out eventually like a new tire will do.

I did do high speed highway driving then too. Never had a tread fall off.

Perhaps the problem is that the people who used re-treads were replacing
tires that had worn prematurely die to low air pressure. Way too many
people neglect to check their tires regularly to ensure they are at the
proper pressure. Rubber tires are slightly air permeable and the air
actually escapes right through the sidewalls. Air also escapes from
valve stems and even through the cap. Last year I had a problem with a
tire. The low air pressure warning light would come on every week or
two. The problem turned out to be that the sensor was leaking.

Your coal fired 'lectric is the same as a toy slot car, needs a
perfect roadway and can't survive any inclement weather. Try your
toy's torque out in a mere 2" of snow... when it's raining you're
housebound. Unsafe at any speed applies perfectly to your Leaf...
only a baby step safer than a motorcycle. Don't forget to put a
helmet on your empty skull.
There were once legions of 'lectric delivery vans in large cities and
hordes of people moving 'lectric buses/trollys, they disappeared for
lack of profitability. Everyone everywhere still bitches louder than
ever about exhorbitant 'lectric bills.
And solar is no answer, simply due to the fact that it doesn't work
everywhere at every time... it's been very cloudy here for several
weeks and regardless where there's night every day. People forget
that it's very expensive to transport 'lectric and it heavily leaks
away during it's journey, hysteresis losses. Transporting electric is
really no different from operating a gasolene powered vehical with
icepick holes poked in its gas tank.

He may but there's obviously zero comprehension, due to the fact that
his education was extremely narrow in scope... plus he looks away from
any facts that disagree with his beliefs... Kootchie goes through life
like a horse wearing blinders.
