You are going back to the dealer for tires?????
Easy come easy go. I don't think there is a more expensive way to buy
them. They will charge more per tire and will probably charge you for
installation.

Not necessarilay. A few years ago, I shopped around for a set of winter
tyres for a Toyota and the best deal was at the Toyota dealership.
I also got a very good price from the dealership for winter tyres for my
Mazda.

Your Toyota dealer must be better to deal with than my Honda dealer.
Their price per tire was quite a bit more than it cost me at a nearby
tire dealer. Honda was going to charge for mounting and installation too.

It surprised me, particularly as I had not found them to be generous
before. In Calgary, I had always found the best deals at Kaltire but in
this case, they were more expensive.
These days I can't be bothered with storing winter tyres (on rims) so I
pay the dealership. Changing them is then combined with the Spring and
fall services. It makes life simpler.

Why are you concerned with the cost?? You're Rich! Rich!! Rich!!! and you make
$24 and hour. The price of tires should not even cross your mind.

Oh yeah, Do you realize those new tires were made by using
petroleum products? Your leaf will no longer be fossil fuel free!

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure St. Lois is next to Canada. I looked on a map
and it is only 6 inches away. About 14 inches from Belgium.

one time on a trip i had a blow out on the road, i needed
new tires anyways, only place that was open that day was a
dealership in a nearby town. price actually wasn't that bad
and i was back on the way within a few hours time.

i sent a thank you card to the people who let me borrow
their phone to call the wrecker so i could get the old tire
removed and the spare put on so i could get to town.

i wasn't in any kind of shape that time to change a tire
on a car on the gravel in the side of the road with quite a
lean to it too.

You should lease all cars, instead of buying. That way the mechanics have better access to the car to keep it going and at possibly less charge to you.

Not really. No reason for them to have better access or charge less
than shop rate. Some cars, bought or leased, do come with a few years of
normal maintenance like oil changes and filters.

That's better! Depending on size and model it is not a bad price.

I've leased 16 cars in my 50+ years for that reason and the tax benefit
of owning a business.

Leasing is a rip-off unless you're using the car for business and can
write it off as such on your taxes. Otherwise you're paying an
exhorbitant amount of money up front just to drive it off the lot then
paying a "car note" every month for a vehicle you will never actually own.

I meant for $1000, I mistyped!

No I am NOT getting ripped off. YOU are! Buying PETROLEUM! My Nissan Leaf has 17" wheels so new tires are kinda pricey! But I bought a new set shortly after I purchased it in 2016 too, and new Michelins are fantastic!

That's still way too much for tires for a Leaf.

Destruction of forests for new tires?
Doesn't everyone have to buy new tires?

Once John described his electric car acceleration as "just like a slot
car." That got my interest as I did go to a slot car place once when I
was a kid.

The thought of a human sized slot car is good.
That would be a fun car to drive.

My Leaf is fantastically fun to drive! But so is my 2008 Grand Caravan, it just uses petroleum! :-(

down the road from me to get them installed. The owner of the shop had
so many problems with the front tire he now has a policy that he will
only install the tires he sells. No more mounting tires that people
bring in.

He had to take it back in last week. The front tire was completely worn
and had developed a bulge. He got only a season and a bit out of those
tires, 12,000 km. Not such a bargain. I had my tires replaced at the
same shop last year. I had got 22,000 km out of mine.

Try to remember your leaf is driven by coal fired power and just think
of the damage you do to the environment with those jettisoned tires!

I guess you didn't know that the synthetic rubber used in tires is a
petroleum product.
