I'll stick with my $ .49 cent loaf of enriched white bread, my beer and my 'Matlock' and 'Mary Tyler Moore' re-runs. But, if I want to know how to make bread? I might just google it, that's why we have RFC. |

On this rock, bread ranges from $1.99 to $6.00 and up. The local bakery that's been around for nearly 170 years is closing down in a few days. This means that the supermarket shelves will be filled with bread shipped in frozen from the mainland. My guess is that the average loaf of bread will be higher in price to fill the void. That's the breaks. |

The best I can do is $.69 on Wednesdays (senior-citizen discount day) at the day-old bread store. It looks like this: <http://products.auntmillies.com/product/2> But I only buy that when I'm going to roast a whole pig and need 20 loaves all at once, for stuffing. My regular bread is $6.79 per loaf: <https://www.zingermansbakehouse.com/product/2/> Cindy Hamilton |
