Default Cooking yesterday

A potato casserole thing. (Using up old stuff)

Sliced 7 potatoes and put 2 layers in a casserole dish.
Then a can of drained green beans.
Layer of cheese.
Poured some chicken gravy over it all
Then more potato slices, more cheese and finally
the rest of the chicken gravy.

Covered and baked at 400F for 60 minutes.
Good stuff.

Earlier, I heated up some homemade chicken noodle soup then a bowl of
oatmeal with raisins, brown sugar and butter a few hours later.

Dinner was the potato casserole. Not all of it, still plenty of leftovers.

How do you thicken your chicken gravy?

Yesterday all I managed was hard-boiling some rather elderly eggs.

Day before it was pork tenderloin, marinated in ginger, garlic, dark soy sauce,
and black vinegar, then grilled.

Black vinegar:

I probably should have added a pinch of sugar for better caramelization
on the grill. Even so, it looked and tasted mighty good. I'm mulling
making some sort of wrap with the leftovers. Warm flour tortilla,
cucumber, carrot, lettuce, scallions, and a dressing made from the same
ingredients as the original marinade. Maybe plus Sichuan pepper.

For that, I used butter and flour, then added enough chicken broth to
make a medium thick gravy.

For a stir-fry, I'll thicken with cornstarch.
