Well, THAT was fun. And tasty.
Something I've been wanting to try for a while: Using puff pastry as a top crust on a pot pie. Turkey, vegetables (onions, celery, carrots, mushrooms, potatoes), home made stock, butter, flour, thyme, poultry seasoning, S&P.
It turned out really neat looking, so thought I'd share (OK, boast :-) ). https://photos.app.goo.gl/uh56kfqcYVUnh2zv5 Served with the first asparagus of the season from the garden. -- Silvar Beitel |

This may just be an unsubstantiated hunch, call it a gut feeling, but it says shit like that because it's a troll? And people engage it thinking it's just a regular 'ol piece of shit. ObFood: Uber started delivering groceries (through cornershop.com). 9% markup+tip (that I know of so far). First order is $50 off $100. I got a bunch of weird shit I probably wouldn't have seen/noticed had I not had to order inline. I ordered From Fiesta Mart (a mostly Hispanic/Carribean grocer). -sw |

You can go completely nuts on the Pepperidge Farm web site: <https://www.puffpastry.com/> I have made at least a dozen of their recipes (the Salmon Wellington and Mini Strawberry Napoleons come to mind) and have loved every one. (Not a shill for Pepperidge Farm, but a huge fan of puff pastry. Incredibly easy to use / incorporate into something interesting, as long as you remember to get it out of the freezer and defrost it in time!) -- Silvar Beitel |

Once. It's a fair amount of effort and commercial frozen puff pastry is not expensive. We have been shopping on-line because of the plague and the market we've been picking up from doesn't carry sheet puff pastry. However, our household is now all at 2 vaccine shots plus 3 weeks, so off I went to my preferred market in person this past week for the first time in months and I loaded up on stuff I couldn't get anywhere else, including puff pastry sheets, so just *had* to use some. > Even my wife generally buys the frozen stuff. It's not as good, but the work involved in making a small batch is huge, way more than choux pastry, and as said, you *can* buy decent puff pastry. > > -- > Silvar Beitel > --Bryan |
