I just don't buy into it and I am not prepared to cater to guests who choose a vegan diet. I have to saw that every once in a while when I am at the corner bakery I get one of their vegan peanut butter squares. They are incredible. When I went to Georgia with the club a couple years ago the group was willing to indulge out vegan member and someone made an delicious vegan chili. I cooked some shrimp and someone else cooked sausage. The vegan dish was good, but the shrimp and sausage made it a meal. |

Bringing one's own doesnt work for kosher, every family's concept of kosher is different... most practising Jews won't eat Hebrew National products because they are sold in non kosher markets. A kosher butcher shop is either 100% kosher or it's not kosher at all. >A few vegan dishes are great. Like those veggie burgers. They've really come along quite a bit. >Especially when steamed. My salad for lunch me be a nice vegan meal with olive oil dressing, but there is a good chance I'll screw it up with a sour cream based dressing. Vegetarian is not that hard, I can pass on a pork chop, but eggs, butter, ice cream are necessities. |

Eggs, butter and even cheese seem to be staples for many meals. A couple of different cheeses really are important too. I just ran out. First on my grocery list. I made pasta with garlic oil, broccoli and parmesan cheese yesterday. It's good but a different melty cheese would have been a good addition to make it more creamy. |

I can substitute meat and meat products, but I won't deal with dairy, egg, and whatever else free -- that's too much hassle. Most vegans I know are kind of 'prissy', but he's 'socially vegetarian' for this reason, and apparently pizza tastes good... lol |
